Job Description

Procurement is at an inflection point, where digital, AI and automation is disrupting and transforming the way the goods and services have historically been supplied to clients. The SET sponsored programme will stand up a cross functional team within the business, Procurement, Finance and IT supported by a systems integrator partner to implement the new platform in the top 12 AZ countries.  The platform is built around Coupa technology which will replace the existing Ariba technology. These markets represent 87% or $7.5Bn+ of global indirect purchasing spend within AZ. 

The project is accountable to deliver both the technological solution but also to:

  • Align the deliverables with the broader strategy for indirect spend to better enable the realization of Procurement strategies and savings.
  • Enhance the Procurement content for the buying channels by working with the Procurement leads
  • Replace the existing Ariba accounts payable platform and supplier network with the equivalent Coupa capability
  • Develop agreed processes and organisational capabilities to maintain the solution once in BAU
  • Migrate approximated 15,000 suppliers and 30,000 employees to the new platform including the associated -eProcurement and e-invoicing connectors
  • Define and execute a strategy to migrate the related business indirect spend to the new platform
  • Deliver all documentation, to include process maps, SOPs, training etc
  • Agree the Coupa / SAP ERP and related systems integration approach with key stakeholders and implement
  • Enables the appropriate customer support to all the business users and supplier
  • Deliver the benefits in user experience and usability and mitigate the change risks
  • Ensure the platform can enforce the company policies and controls frameworks (incl. SOX)

Additional Details:

This role will be responsible for working closely with the Coupa Program team to build, manage and help deliver all change and communication aspects of the implementation. The audience base of the change is the Global Procurement function, the Global Finance function as well as ~30,000 AstraZeneca employees that will be impacted by the program. Accountabilities will include but are not limited to ensuring that the communication strategy is clearly defined and executed against, liaise with and communicate to all impacted groups, work closely with the rest of the Coupa program team to ensure communications are built to align with the progress of the overall program.

This role will also work closely with the Global Procurement team to focus on ensuring that all changes are then embedded in the organization so that post implementation, AstraZeneca can successfully use the Coupa platform.

This is a fixed term role for 12 months (regular employment contract), with opportunity to extend the contract.

Responsibilities/Deliverables

  • Lead the Coupa Communications plan on behalf of the programme roll-out
  • Accountable for creating and executing communications deliverables to the business functions impacted by the programme.
  • Collaboration with the Coupa Program to create, maintain and implement Coupa Change Plan, including change interventions designed to maximize adoption and positively drive new ways of working/mindset shift in the organisation
  • Alongside the Coupa program Leads, develop and maintain the key Stakeholder map
  • Create detailed Change Impact assessment for upcoming technology releases and changes in ways of working
  • Ensure all interdependent programme and their change management impacts are managed against the Coupa plan.

Requirements

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Strong Program implementation credibility.
  • 5-7 years applicable Procurement or Finance Operations experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree (such as an MBA, MS, JD) a plus
  • Pharmaceutical Procurement or law firm experience a definite plus but not required
  • Demonstrated leadership / management and business partnership skills
  • Strong communication, cross functional collaboration and influencing skills
  • Exceptional track record driving procurement's value proposition
  • Supplier Relationship Management and Development experience
  • Ability to leverage a range of influencing techniques
  • Proven ability to manage change
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Ability to work in highly complex and fluid environment
