Job Description
The Portfolio and Solutions team is looking for a leader to help us develop new device businesses with the hardware ecosystem at Microsoft.  As part of Microsoft’s Consumer and Device Sales (CDS) team, the Portfolio & Solutions (P&S) team is central to delivering on Microsoft’s vision for enabling digital transformation with an Intelligent Edge and Intelligent Cloud.  You will drive a portion of our efforts to explore, define and delivery the product categories and deliver the first proof of concept.
To be considered for this opportunity you should have deep knowledge of the consumer and commercial device markets with focus on Iot Edge devices and an electrical engineering, computer sciences or equivalent degree (or on the job technical experience).
We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator and is fluent in the latest services, device software, silicon and hardware related technologies to be a trusted advisor to executives, product planners, engineering teams and partners. The ideal candidate will fuse the talents of HW and SW product planning, a world class storyteller and a cross functional leader that has a proven track record of creating impactful new categories that are valued by the ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Identifying new high growth device lead services opportunities
• Validate opportunities with partners from product, finance and business development
• Assess feasibility through experimentation (small scale POCs, etc.) with partners
• Compile learning from experiments into new category technical strategy plan that enables CDS to monetize through services offerings
• Drive product strategy alignment across stakeholder organizations and leadership

Qualifications

Required Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, planning and drive for results
• Strong project management skills; planning, prioritization and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously while owning feature definition and feasibility assessment 
• Strong communicator with superb ability to translate technology solutions into business outcomes with high ROI
• 5+ years of experience in a combination of technology and strategy roles with a track record of defining and delivering new device concepts
• Experience with, the application of cloud-based technologies, AI and how they drive intelligent edge strategies.
• Understanding of the industry competitive landscape and solid understanding Microsoft’s value proposition.
Desirable Skills:
• Previous HW, SW product delivery experience; high level HW design and/or Software design
• Familiarity with device security, privacy and worldwide deployment
