Eaton is currently seeking a Program Manager, Early Talent Programs to join our team in Beachwood, Oh. The primary role of this position is to support the company’s strategic goal of identifying, attracting and developing early talent as a pipeline for future leaders within the organization Position Overview: Eaton is a power management company made up of over 92,000 employees, doing business in more than 175 countries. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Early Talent Leadership Development Programs, you will have accountability for partnering with executive sponsors and stakeholders to develop, execute and manage our Engineering & Technology as well as our Technical Sales Leadership Development Program and Interns. In this role you will: Engage executive sponsors, stakeholders and related steering committees in strategy and planning discussions. Develop an action plan and oversee execution of the program strategy. Including but not limited to leadership training, strategy and headcount planning, budget (forecasting/profit plan management), and university recruitment for these function. Use expertise to guide program strategy to deliver specific, challenging, and high-quality assignments to participants during the program. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the program, and work with the Early Talent to design and deploy those improvements. Partner with business and functional HR and Talent Management to understand critical pipelines, business strategies, and future skillset and pipeline needs. Provide a framework of resources for program participants including a training curriculum, coaching and feedback on current skills, strengths, development need for their current role, as well as building future leadership capabilities. Create a program for developing, maintaining, and communicating functional career paths and competencies for specific functions. Advise on functional competencies, developmental tools, methodologies, and practices. Coach assignment managers on strong goal setting, expectation setting, conducting performance reviews, and ongoing performance feedback to participants. Ensure Early Talent policies and procedures are in place as it pertains to performance. Develop a robust offboarding approach to ensure long term success for program participants. Co-develop recruiting and campus strategies with University Relations Campus Managers for target universities, university relationships, campus & diversity events. Interviewing and selecting talent for 2nd round interviews. Drive consensus discussions to select top talent for both interns and the leadership development program and work with HR Services and University Relations on offer process. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience in HR, Engineering, Sales or Program Management. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or MBA 3 years of manager of people or leadership experience preferred. Experience developing strategies or leading change management initiatives. Experience leading projects with multiple stakeholders. Position Criteria Ability to recruit, assess & select top talent and coach assignment managers. Effective relationship building and interacting with both college recruits and senior leadership. Understanding of performance management and having the coaching skills necessary to help drive high performance among university hires. Ability to maintain the integrity of the program while managing multiple & sometimes conflicting stakeholder priorities. Understanding of how leaders develop. Experience with change management processes and projects.
