Job Description
Job Title: Program Manager - Level II Organization: VGGP Location: Turin HQ, Italy Primary Function: Within the Commercial Vehicle Valve Actuation the position is responsible for the successful execution of NPI (New Product Introduction) projects rated Major Repeater or above (Eaton Risk Assessment). Specifically, the position ensures appropriate allocation of budget and resources, develops detailed project plans to meet customer and internal milestones, establishes and monitors the project financial metrics. She/he leads a cross functional team driving adherence to such plan, budget and financials. In partnership with sales and engineering manages communication with customer, provides timely updates to the Eaton managements, prepares and leads project Gate reviews as part of the Eaton ProLaunch process. Essential Functions A. Manages the project from development through launch. B. Creates project plans and monitors progress against those, keeping cross functional team focused on critical path and milestone attainment C. Monitor project financials and budget ensuring adherence to business case. D. Leads team members assigned to the to the project. Ensures the priorities are properly assigned and recognized. Identifies and works with functions to resolve resource constraints. Elevates concerns to leadership team as appropriate. E. Manages effective customer communication, ensuring appropriate responsiveness to customer requirements. Communicates and manages customer expectations a nd contractual commitments internally. F. Ensures standard program management processes are utilized. Coordinates PM reviews, prepares and publishes PM metrics and reports. G. Manages team performance based on Focus 5 expectations. H. Updates and manages ProPM timely and accurately I. Holds team members accountable to work break down structure and project expectations J. Provides program updates (Program Status Report – Green/Yellow/Red) of current situation relating to contractual milestones and problem/high risk areas (e.g., technical, cost, and schedule). Provides updates to the business units as well as divisional, and group levels. K. Works with sales organization to manage customer contract, pricing, terms and conditions and contractual flow-down through the organization and ensures business case alignment through value chain. Collaborates with sales and leadership to establish and negotiate pricing strategies by system and/or product, market and by customer. Ensure effective change management process is utilized. Qualifications Bachelors degree required; Engineering degree preferred 3-5 years’ experience in Program Management; or a combination of Program Management with some Engineering and/or Product Development Management Experienced in Vehicle New Product Development (NPD) programs Proven Leadership skills - capability to lead change in an Integrated Team (IPT) environment across multiple sites and customers globally. Fully demonstrating to proficient in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP) highly recommended Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer Very Good written and spoken English communication skills Additional language skills in are preferred Experience in Risk Management Strong analytical skills and business acumen Broad knowledge of the Vehicle industry Eaton is an intelligent power management company dedicated to improving the quality of life and protecting the environment for people everywhere.
