Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Operations Engineering, other relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in a professional role.
  • 5 years of experience with product development/lifecycle in product compliance roles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Operations Engineering or other relevant field.
  • 5 years of experience working with PLM software. Knowledge of typical hardware BOMs, process documentation and assembly and test processes.
  • Familiarity with product environmental regulations and standards such as E.U. RoHS directive and conflict minerals requirements.
  • Ability to understand and apply product data management practices for data quality.
  • Ability to communicate project requirements and schedules and influence stakeholders in adhering to the product compliance processes and policies.
  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, creativity and strategic skills.

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.

The Product Data Management (PDM) team is critical to Technical Infrastructure’s success, ensuring Google achieves on-time NPI builds, production ramp and maintain supply continuity during sustaining. As a Product Compliance Program Manager on the PDM team, you will partner with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure the PDM functions scale to meet Google’s requirements. The PDM team creates standards related to specification requirements, lifecycle phases, bill of material (BOM) structures, part number attribution and product documentation. The output of the product development process is the documentation, including accurate specifications, drawings and qualification constraints that are used for the product in its useful life.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, create and organize product compliance data according to established processes, policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and load product compliance declarations of conformity.
  • Prevent compliance issues by collaborating with Engineering teams, reviewing design data and identifying short- and long-term issues.
  • Support all regulatory compliance needs that arise during the life of our products. Review all new part requests, engineering change orders and deviations to ensure that the requirements are met and maintained.
  • Review BOMs to determine what product compliance information needs to be gathered and escalates risks/issues as needed.
