The Opportunity:
AIA is seeking an experienced delivery professional passionate about execution excellence with a track record of delivering positive customer, employee and stakeholder experiences to be a permanent Programme Delivery Lead across an ambitious strategic delivery programme.
About the Role:
- Develop and lead a high-performance culture across the cross-functional delivery teams, in line with AIA’s values and an agile mindset, with a focus on continued learning and innovation.
- Be an active leader and Project Delivery advocate to help people understand how each project and programme helps achieve our AIA strategic plan and our broader purpose to make a difference in people’s lives.
- Advocate and champion the voice of the customer, ensuring delivery teams leverage market research and continuous exploration to continually understand customer and market needs. This includes the utilisation of design thinking tools and techniques throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure the desirability, feasibility, and viability of all work within the programme is continuously tested, early escalation of changes against the business case, and formal change management.
- Oversee and monitor overall progress of the programme, with focus on budgets, key milestones, portfolio delivery sequencing management, effectively navigating inter-dependencies and ensuring a smooth flow of work into the delivery teams. This includes managing a programme backlog ensuring enough forward funded work in the backlog at all times and in readiness for portfolio prioritisation and delivery planning sessions.
- Champion and govern end to end delivery disciplines underpinned with viable the customer experiences to ensure Quality, Cost and Time (QTC) indicators are met to maximize delivery efficiency and support benefit realization.
- Actively advocate and support portfolio delivery risk, delivered risk and change management practices.
- Support the efficient allocation and deployment of people and other resources to effectively optimize delivery cadence and cost.
About you:
- Relevant Tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, Information Systems or Engineering disciplines.
- Agile Certification preferred.
- Prince2 or PMBoK preferred.
- Minimum of 12-15 years in Programme Delivery Lead role with 8+ years’ experience in Insurance/financial services industry.
- Demonstrated experience in working with both Waterfall and Agile principles and practices, including an understanding of the value of individuals and interactions over processes and tools and the importance of collaboration.
- Strong experience with Big Room planning, SAFe and Agile ways of working.
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of iterative development and delivery.
- End to end experience in execution of change implementation, software development lifecycle and methodology as well as and project delivery.
- Broad understanding of business practices and ability to quickly understand the business, their challenges, strategy, key stakeholders and influences.
- Ability to learn rapidly from internally and outside the insurance industry.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communications skills both verbal & written. Proven experience presenting and working with prospective and existing clients/partners, vendors and other external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and to effectively communicate with staff at all levels
- Ability to influence, negotiate and prioritize to find ‘win-win’ outcomes.
- Extensive experience in management support at all levels and across the organization with a strong understanding of Change and Quality management.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams including prioritizing multiple conflicting requirements across the programmes, projects and the business as well as other impacted/related programmes/projects outside of your remit.
- Ability to learn systems and new technologies and adapt to in-place procedures.
- Ability to pro-actively plan.
- Ability to establish, implement and manage new processes and cadences.
- Proven ability to develop plans and effectively manage financial, physical and human resources.
- Demonstrated capacity to work in highly pressured & volatile environments, with experience leading through uncertainty and ability to know when to pivot.
- Demonstrated business and commercial acumen with an enterprise view.
