Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Programs & Product Launch Manager is a member of Regional PM reporting directly to the Regional PM. This position will be responsible to support: 1) Program management, 2) APQP management, & 3) Product/process design & development. Program management includes managing both equipment and new product launches, implementing and ensuring the successful execution of the processes for new product introduction and/or process development. This includes interface with the customer as well as interaction with all functional groups internal and external within the company. APQP management includes the quality processes and approvals for new/existing product PPAP’s and directly working with customers for approvals and change requests. Produce/process design responsibilities include manufacturing feasibility reviews, change management, process design, and tooling design/development/manufacturing. Support the development of project manager(s), engineers, technicians, and designers to achieve world class quality performance. Drives continuous improvement while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). This position is to work directly with PROLaunch Champion of the site responsible for deploying methodologies & processes within the plant and provides training and guidance on PROLaunch tools & requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead the development & execution of plant programs (equipment & product) roadmap and define resources/skills needed for execution (people, capital, etc.). Interact directly with PROLaunch Champion and PM manager of the site. Responsible for deploying methodologies & processes within the plant and provides training and guidance on PROLaunch tools & requirements. Develop appropriate work plans (PROLaunch and/or Change Management) to ensure objectives are met and the plant is capable to support all project requirements. Define & communicate project scopes and deliverables. Aligning new equipment &/or product launches with all plant functions and drive the execution to meet customer, cost, quality, and timing requirements. Define & lead plant projects which support key operational factors and/or improvement objectives. Manage suppliers to ensure on time execution of projects Maintain key project performance tracking including leading and lagging indicators. Coordinate financial and technical analysis reviews of all manufacturing projects. Managing all aspects of APQP for new product / process launches – interfacing with customers to meet all their expectations. Developing & improving processes and tooling that drive world class quality & productivity. Lead, with plant functions, the creation of manufacturing processes, routings, and drawings. Champions the manufacturing feasibility review and change management processes for the site. Seeks team (internal & external) input to promote rapid resolution to issues. Coaches and provides feedback/rewards on project performance indicators. Driving implementation of best practices & continuous improvements projects. Be a driving force in ensuring a strong and committed culture of process rigor & quality throughout the organization. Ensure the promotion and awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization. Acts as a primary organizational contact for customer APQP and new product launches. Creating and leading development plans for self and help others within the organization to ensure technical, launch, &/or APQP expertise. Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe Federal, State, local, and overall regional company safety and health regulations. Must reflect an interest in company safety and health objectives and required to set a good example by always observing the rules as a part of the normal work routine Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution 5+ years of experience in Operations, Quality and/or Program Management leadership Proven Leadership skills - capability to lead change in a dynamic and rapidly growing environment Expertise in quality processes and fundamentals Very proficient in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written with ability to effectively communicate to internal & external customers & leadership Demonstrated strong problem solving, Passion & Motivational skills Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP) Project management – led NPD or STP project (large projects/high risk programs) Experience with lean, six sigma, and/or continuous improvement Experience in product &/or process design & development Knowledge and experience with the Launch tools (e.g. PRO-Launch process) 3+ years of experience in the Automotive #LI.AM4 What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
