Project Co-ordinator II
The appointee will initially be assigned to the Learning Garden of the Library. The Learning Garden is a technology-rich learning environment equipped with computer workstations, high-performance multimedia workstations designed for film editing and graphic design, as well as comprehensive 3D printing and scanning facilities. The MakerSpace project is underway to further provide augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) facilities, creative media production space for video and VR content as well as a maker work space equipped with various production tools in the Learning Garden. Duties include (a) providing logistics support and co-ordination in various projects related to the MakerSpace and the Learning Garden; (b) liaising with different parties to organise events and learning activities in the MakerSpace and the Learning Garden; (c) assisting in promoting the Maker culture to the CUHK community; (d) assisting in the administration and the operation of the MakerSpace and the Learning Garden; (e) supervising staff and student helpers; (f) recording and compiling usage statistics; (g) performing general office administrative tasks (h) handling various library-related enquiries; (i) attending counter duties and roving services; (j) assisting in special and ad-hoc projects; and (k) performing other tasks as assigned. Shift duties at library counters will be required.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience, preferably in academic libraries; (iii) work experience in planning, organising and promoting learning activities; (iv) good working knowledge of 3D printing, 3D scanning and video editing; (v) a good command of English, and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (vi) the ability to work independently, collaboratively with other colleagues and as part of project teams; and (vii) excellent interpersonal and presentation skills combined with a customer-focused approach. Experience in video-editing, AR and VR applications will be advantageous.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
