The appointee will be assigned to work in the Research Support and Digital Initiatives of the Library, and will be responsible for (a) providing logistics support and co-ordination in various library digitisation projects; (b) assisting in managing and processing large data sets; (c) assisting in organising events and the operation of the Digital Scholarship Lab, including the use of software, workstations and equipment; (d) designing websites, leaflets and other art works; (e) supervising student helpers for quality control and other areas relating to digitisation; (f) recording and compiling usage statistics; (g) performing general office administrative tasks; and (h) undertaking other tasks as assigned. Shift duties at library counters will be required.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Library or IT-related disciplines; (ii) working knowledge of processing digital objects and managing AV equipment; (iii) proficiency in MS Office, Photoshop and other graphic design tools; (iv) proficiency in English and Chinese; (v) good interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills; (vi) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and (vii) the ability to work independently, collaboratively and under pressure. Knowledge of and experience in image/audio/video formats and relevant equipment, and at least 2 years’ relevant work experience is preferred.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
