Primary Purpose:


The scope of this job will include supporting Project Cost, Project Managers and Transformational Engineers with Prophix Cost Management System. The intern will be responsible for analyzing project cost information such as trends, variance analysis and follow-up on Project Managers assignments. Candidate will have exposure to accounting, finance, and the project lifecycle.  Candidate should have a basic understanding of MS Office products and Outlook.  Candidate’s major should be focused in these related fields:  Accounting/Finance/Economics.

















































Major Projects:


Assisting with the development, forecasting, and review of monthly project spending.    Additionally, Intern will provide support to ensure Project Cost Plans and Business Cases are current and up-to-date with the latest information. Developing executive presentations, coordinating “Lunch and Learns” and marketing plans for new functionality.



List of Activities:



Training will take many forms including observing “Lunch and Learns”, teaching portions of “Lunch and Learns” and conducting face-to-face meetings with Project Managers and Transformation Engineers.  Most training will be on the job however, training required of all employees such as Diversity, Compliance and Risk will be available too.  Intern will gain a deep understanding of our Project Management Process e.g. quality gate process, business case calculations, cost plan tracking and measuring benefit realization.  Strong interaction with Controlling to learn Daimler forecasting and reporting processes.

Please note this is a seasonal internship that will work up to 90 calendar days in our Farmington HIlls, Ml office.  Candidate must be currently enrolled or have graduated within a year of starting internship.


Internship will run from May to August 2020. Start date and end date are flexible based on candidates availability.
