Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Systems and Services is currently seeking a Project Controls Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC location. Position Overview: This position reports into the EESS Strategic Programs team and the primary function is to provide the Strategic Programs team with consistent and intimate support in managing their projects. The project engineer is responsible for project schedule development/maintenance, creation of purchase requisitions, material and equipment tracking, subcontractor/vendor requests for pricing, project cost tracking, ongoing cost estimate validation, submittal generation/oversight, document control, and warranty support. The project engineer is also responsible for the development/oversight of deliverables for the business units revenue recognition projects, as well as supporting ongoing intercompany negotiation activities, specifically including, but not limited to, interfacing within the various company resources for pricing on Eaton equipment and services. Preferably, successful candidate demonstrates proficiency in systems software, such as Vista, Bid Manager, Oracle, SAP, PowerBI, Microsoft Office and various other programs. In this function you will: Project Engineers are a resource for project managers, sales, contracts, finance, and our customers. They provide the following support: Provide project management support for equipment only orders ensuring on-time delivery Maintain Project Schedules with the Program Management team Create a bill of materials for a project proposal Interface with other Eaton plants & services for solutions, services, and price negotiation Interface with external vendors for quotation requests Create order summaries based off of purchase order receipt and proposal files to identify order entry requirements Develop & compile project submittals Develop deliverables worksheets for revenue recognition projects Maintain project cost tracking and estimate validation Maintain project documentation control Request authorized price levels and process requests for order entry into Bid Manager Provide technical assistance after order receipt & interface with Eaton plants and service organizations File intercompany warranty requests When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 1 - 3 years of experience supporting projects Preferred qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, sales, or support experience in electrical assemblies, electrical distribution and power protection technology. Demonstrates proficiency in systems software, such as Vista, Bid Manager, Oracle, SAP, PowerBI, Microsoft Office and various other programs. Working understanding of project management including scheduling software systems (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Projects) Position Criteria: Demonstrated ability in managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks simultaneously Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication skills. Particular skill in communicating technical information to non-technical personnel, educating customers, and presenting information to internal and external customers. Knowledge of corporate and business unit policies. Working knowledge of all software packages relevant to successful performance of tasks.
