Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Systems and Services Team is currently seeking a Project Design Team Leader – Power Generation to join our team. This position can be based remotely. Position Overview: The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, oversight and mentoring of design engineering teams focused on both large and small project designs. This position is to provide engineering leadership to teams of designers/discipline specific engineers to create complete designs including both electrical and layout packages. The Project Design Engineer Team Leader shall provide a high level of expertise in one or more areas of design. Complete engineering packages typically include: Equipment Specifications Power system studies Single lines drawings General arrangement drawings Elevation drawings Three-line drawings Schematics Wiring diagrams Interconnection diagrams Conduit/cable plans Lighting plans/drawings Lightning protection plans/drawings Control power drawings Grounding drawings/details Excitation Replacements Generator Grounding Synchronous Condenser and Pony Motor Applications Generator Protection and Controls Equipment Testing Procedure Commissioning plans Commissioning support As-built drawings The Project Design Team Leader shall be responsible for managing design deliverables to maintain project schedule, design budget, design accuracy, and submittal completeness working in concert with designers. The Design Team Leader is charged with value added engineering and expertise in specific areas of complex projects as well as monitoring the overall department schedules and utilization. The Design Team Leader shall act as an expert in their field of concentration and provide guidance and mentoring to Design Engineers, Project Managers and Customers. Other tasks that the Design Team Leader will take part in include scope development, estimating, subcontractor, bid leveling, department process and procedure development. The Project Design Team Leader shall be responsible to support the Project Operations Manager in hiring strategies for design, employee Training and development and APEX, employee utilization, financial cost control and monitoring. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of Ten (10) years of Electrical Design/Construction Management experience Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future No relocation is being offered for this position Preferred qualifications: Familiarity with power system engineering calculations Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Professional Engineer qualification Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA PMP Certified Position Criteria: Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety program and policies Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings. Business travel shall be approximately 20% through designated regions. Strong computer skills Understanding of the company's and competitor's electrical, electronic and mechanical products and services. Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment. Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
