• In-house Project Director
• Based in Hong Kong, large scale regional projects
• Lead and deliver prestigious projects

We are searching for a Project Director based in Hong Kong to work for our client’s in-house development team. Candidate’s will ideally have luxury retail, shopping mall, or large-scale mixed-use project experience and must have some experience delivering projects in China. We can consider people from Architecture/Interior Design backgrounds or Construction/Engineering background.

The Project Director must be an accomplished leader and have experience leading PM teams, building rapport and managing relationships with C-level internal stakeholders, delivering projects remotely (at least for until global travel opens back up), and some experience of managing projects in mainland China.

Responsibilities:

• Successfully manage large projects in Asia from concept through to handover to operations team
• Manage global projects and ability to manage a portfolio of projects in multiple countries at any one time
• High attention to detail for luxury and large scale retail projects
• Ability to read and understand design drawings throughout project stages
• Proven record of delivering projects in PRC
• Strong leadership and effective management of PMs and SPMs
• Set projects up, build project teams through vendors and ability to create and manage construction programs and plans and complete these projects to strict schedules
• Management of tendering and cost control and build a close working relationship with cost and procurement teams
• Strong communication of all project activities to c-suite and senior executives
• Subject matter expert on construction regulations and work methods
• Drive projects forward by providing relevant solutions to issues

Skills and experience:

• Track record of delivering projects in Asia from start to finish
• Proven record of delivering at least one full project in PRC
• Experience working client-side is preferred however consultancy experience could be suitable
• Experience working on large scale complex projects as well as more detailed fit-out works
• Luxury retail, shopping mall or large-scale mixed-use experience
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholder operations teams and vendors
• Strong knowledge of best tendering and cost control practices
• Expert knowledge of project management best practices
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential
