Job Description

Objectives and Responsibilities 


HKSTP is a place that brings scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs together with investors to turn dreams into reality. Completion of the Park’s Stage One Expansion (SPX1) signifies an important milestone for HKSTP and the new development is fast becoming an exciting home to InnoHK, Robotics Catalyzing Centre, technology start-ups, Incubatees and major corporations. While we welcomed new tenants moving into SPX1, HKSTP also launched the Park’s Stage Two Expansion (SPX2). We will soon mark a milestone for HKSTP when we celebrate our 20th Anniversary in 2022.

Park Experience, achieved through gelling different venues which were developed over past 18 years, is vital to encourage mingling of talents. Together with piece meal initiatives and focal attractions such as Technology Showcase, Experience Centre, it is time to holistically review the Park Experience in enriching the third place in a coordinated manner.

The Director/Associate Director will report to the Chief Project Development Officer. He / she will work with the CXOs, Clusters, Project Team, Facility Management Team and other stakeholders to develop the strategies in upgrading and transforming the Spine, MICE venues and other amenities.

His / her role requires deep understanding of the commercial trends, communal developments and international standards in / outside Hong Kong and in making dreams and fantasies come true. His / her duties are responsible for implementing and monitoring of these strategies to prepare Science Park for celebration of the 20th Anniversary.


Park Experience Development

  • Engage Stakeholders in developing the strategic proposal for revamp of the Park Experience
  • Work with Marketing Team, Clusters, Facility Management Team, Project Team on related matters
  • Liaise with existing F&B tenants and to validate their wishes for incorporation into the proposal
  • Presentation to Committees and Board for approval
  • Design Management in coordination, implementation and delivery of the approved strategies



Upgrade & Transform

  • Upgrade the Spine, MICE venues, F&B, Tenants’ Showcase plus strengthening of various spatial connections and landscape attractions, etc.
  • Understand and handle various requests and matters initiated by F&B/MICE operators and users.
  • Upgrade facilities to support the development and launch of soft services
  • Strengthen HKSTP Smart City Platform by adoption of Tenants’ innovation and technology

 
Requirements

  • University or post-graduate degree in Architecture or Member of a recognized professional institute in Interior Design is a must
  • Over 15 years' relevant experience with strong design and commercial sense at a senior executive level with marketing based organization. Less experience candidate will be considered as Associate Project Director  
  • Excellent skills in Design Management, Team player, able to work with and help peers
  • Passion and experience in the application of technology to place making
  • Strong connection with Hong Kong marketing / event organizers, F&B operators, etc.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and execution skills with excellent command of spoken/written English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)  
  • Able to present to Board and Committees, with presentation and paper-writing skills
