ABB Turbocharging manufactures and maintains turbochargers for engines on ships, power stations, diesel locomotives and large, off-highway vehicles. We focus on how to help our customers today, while driving innovation in anticipation of future challenges.

This is a Project Engineer role reporting to the Project Manager in the Business Area - Process Automation, Turbocharging located in Chongqing, China. You will be responsible to manage Investment Project Management (new production line) and New Product Localization Project Management.

Your responsibilities

• Working with the manufacturing process engineer to do the pre-study and providing the available proposals for the management to make a choice, leading the investment project (IP) as the project leader from Gate0 (initiation) to Gate7(Project Closure Review).
• Making the feasible project plan aligned with all related functions & machine suppliers & the management, leading the technical clarifications with suppliers and making sure the TA is signed-off on time, budget & specs.
• Controlling and monitoring the entire project lifecycle to make sure the project is running as planned, leading the pre-acceptance & final acceptance to make sure the production line or machine fulfils the TA.
• Partnering with Manufacturing Process, Equipment, Production, Quality & Procurement in the daily management, using the planned localization parts to do the machine tests.
• When there is no investment project or the workload is not enough, being responsible for the new product localization project management. Communicating with CHTUS (ABB Switzerland) for technical/project support externally (mainly License Supporter).
• Internally partnering with Sales, Order Process, Planning, Product, Sourcing, Production, Quality & Other relative functions during the localization phase. Making sure the project OTD (on-time delivery) can meet the customer demand. Working with TSE very closely.
• Leading parts localization projects simultaneously and handling the priority or resource conflicts, taking care about the part Standard Value reaches the target budget cost. Leading the team to give proposals in case of critical project issue.

Your background

• Must have a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in casting or machining area; 3 years of experience as a Project Leader.
• Must have a process, product or design background.
• Must have CET4.
• PMP certificate is a plus.
• Must have worked in a multinational company.
• Should be familiar with Microsoft Office, Outlook, SAP.
