Location/Division Specific Information
This role is supporting our Biologics API facility in St. Louis, MO.
How will you make an impact?
This role will apply Project Engineering expertise within the biopharmaceutical industry to successfully deliver engineering outcomes while managing stakeholder expectations. The Project Engineer will scope, execute, and manage capital projects, as well as maintain / improve Process Development (PD) engineering systems at the St. Louis, MO site. Candidate will be capable of managing multiple projects, timelines, budgets, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Many projects will be of diverse scope where it is critical to rapidly exercise logical/thoughtful judgement with a high level of clarity. Decisions must be made in alignment with the site’s goals and objectives. It is valuable for this individual to have a working understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies. This individual will occasionally interact with corporate senior leadership, and regularly interact with site management, group managers/supervisors, in-house scientific subject matter experts, vendors, and regulatory bodies

What will you do?
- Development / implementation of systems, processes and SOPs in support of both Engineering
- Management, engineering design, justification, and execution of projects, including capital, reliability, and efficiency
- Creates business cases, justifications, and project plans for new engineering initiatives
- Executes and / or oversees testing, commissioning, or validation of existing and new assets
- Ensures compliance with EHS, Quality, and township, state, and federal agencies
- Serves as primary point of contact / communication for projects
- Responsible for project budgets and schedules, and internal communication to drive achievement of project milestones and deliverables
- Management of the PD Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Interacts with Facilities and I.T. groups to align on shared systems (utilities, automation platforms, asset management systems, and other soft and hard services)
- Responsible for the PD Engineering training curriculum for the site
- Completes all required training including cGMP, R&D, and Safety
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Maintains reliable attendance.
- Frequently interacting with internal Department leaders, project leads and process development leaders as well as external vendors
- Performs other duties as assigned
How will you get here?
- Minimum of 3 years of Project Engineering experience in Pharamceuticals, preferably Biopharmacueticals.
- Experience with technical project management, Good Engineering Practices, and state/federal permits/licenses.
- A certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to lead by example and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in project engineering body of knowledge including timeline management, communication plans, risk plans, action item trackers, and project plans.
- Track record of working well in cross-functional environments, strong presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
- Experience using MS Project or equivalent as a tool to create timelines and monitor project progress is a plus.
