Job Description
We are a leading provider of high-quality metering solutions for the precision measurement of energy in large capacity circuits. We provide a full end-to-end service including the design, build, installation and commissioning, as well as ongoing maintenance and data collection. Siemens Grid Software is recruiting for a Project Field Engineer to undertake and champion installation and commissioning of high accuracy energy metering systems. Typically located in transmission substations owned and operated by our clients, often on an offshore platform; the works and services delivered by this function are associated with new large electrical grid connections, upgrades to existing metering systems or reactive visits to rectify faults. This role will be eligible for frequent overtime. What part will you play? Lead and deliver on-site installation and commissioning works at customers' premises of new metering systems and associated tailored Grid monitoring systems/solutions Perform SAT and SIT procedures coupled with customer witness testing requirements Diagnosis of electrical/metering/communications faults using portable and fixed test equipment Ensure that installed equipment meets the requirements of the health and safety and local safety requirements Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction to maintain the company’s reputation through going above and beyond, delighting customers, and achieving company objectives Take ownership of project documentation to ensure alignment and completion to required standards Support and assist the wider project team to monitor the progress of works and ensure that the development, design, construction, testing and financial targets are met and effect remedial action where required. Ensure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of project work for safe and successful project implementation. What does it take to be successful in this role? We're looking for someone who is willing to travel frequently to our various sites across the UK who has a good understanding of CoP1 & CoP2 solution requirements including grid system monitoring requirements, some experience of electrical instrumentation and control systems as well as knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems. Other things we're looking for are: Ability to use IT packages such as MS Office, Visio, AutoCAD, MS Projects etc HNC / HND in electrical / electronic engineering Strong understanding of Electrical Safe Systems of Work.
