Assistant Project Coordinator
SUMMARY
This position serves as an Assistant Project Coordinator within the Life Science team at SDL. The Assistant Project Coordinator is responsible for some key translation project management tasks including client communication, translation project cost estimation, running ad hoc reports through various company systems, record keeping activities, and supporting in the preparation of client activities of various types. The role is ideal to learn the complexities of translation project management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is support role reporting to Production team Lead. It It includes the following responsibilities:
In charge of client communication via email or phone.
Handle incoming calls, take messages and promote effective inter-office communication.
Manage mailbox communication.
Perform production analyses and estimations .
Track activity and review, tabulate and enter data into a variety of systems.
Raise purchase orders to vendors.
May act as a liaison for the Line Manager in their absence.
Perform translation quotations and translation project-specific duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES:
-University undergraduate or graduate with 1-2 years of relevant administrative/operational support experience in office environment directly related to the duties of the job, OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of work experience.
-May possess additional education certification in this level.
-Degree in translation studies, or experience within the translation industry preferred.
-Requires excellent knowledge of Microsoft word processing, spreadsheets or other programs specific to the job in order to complete job duties successfully.
-Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments.
-Must have strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustment to meet business needs.
-Knowledge of English should be fluent, plus an additional language preferred.
