Job Overview
The Project Lead – Vehicle Systems will be responsible for all matters pertaining to technical direction and leadership on the VISTA 2.0 project through completion.  The position will work with the Business Project Manager to evaluate the various options and finalize the overall scope and the project methodology to follow. This individual working with the Business PM will select external vendors to collaborate with in completing the project as necessary.
In collaboration with the Application Architect, the Project Lead will make decisions regarding SW tools and platforms and will be responsible for integrating the new solution components with the existing remnants in the older system as the projects moves through each phase. He or she will be responsible for providing effort estimates for all work packages to support the Business PM throughout the lifecycle of the project.  The Project Lead will coordinate with all internal IT groups involved with the project, such as Enterprise Architecture, EAI, Business Intelligence and Infrastructure & Operations.
The selected candidate will also be responsible to migrating the support model for today’s VISTA to that of VISTA 2.0, ensuring adequate and timely knowledge transfer throughout the deployment and retirement process.
Responsibilities:
·        Responsible for technical leadership and direction of the VISTA 2.0 project to fulfill business objectives as determined by the Business Project manager 
·        The Position requires an innovative approach to problem solving, though a solid knowledge of the existing system and processes is critical.
·        Recommend the proper mix of onshore, near-shore and off-shore technical resources
·        Recommend the project technology stack and implement processes necessary for the successful deployment of the final products
·        Identify need for supplemental technical resources and make recommendations to the PM as necessary
·        Identify the technical issues, escalate as necessary and manage the resolutions agreed with the project team and steering committee
·        Coordinate with other IT groups as necessary

Education
 
·        Bachelor’s Degree (accredited school)
 
Must have 7 – 10 years (total) of experience in the following:
Administration
 
 
Business – General
 
 
Business – Management
 
 
 
Project Management Skills
 
 
Knowledge of administrative procedures, process/project development, and system procedures.
 
Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization.
 
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, human resource management and efficiency and process methods.
 
Must have project management experience
 

 
 Additional Qualifications
·        A sound understanding of basic IT processes and standards within the Daimler Organization in general and MBUSA specifically
·        Must have project management experience, including Agile methods such as Scrum
·        Must have or quickly learn the use and maintenance of the existing VISTA /IVIS system.
·        Must be able to identify resources within HQ IT team needed to support the various sub-components to be developed and to serve as a liaison with those individuals
·        Must have strong leadership skills.
·        Must be able to communicate effectively with all project team members and stakeholders
·        Must be able to work remotely if necessary and travel both domestically and internationally
