Siemens Mobility are recruiting for Project Management professionals as part of our Military to Rail Programme. The Military to Rail programme offers service leavers and former military personnel the opportunity of a successful career within the rail industry. This is our third time running this highly successful programme and we are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to support your transition from the military into the Rail Industry. Applicants for these roles should be currently in the military or have left the military in the last 2 years. We have multiple roles in the programme available nationwide. However, for these positions preference will be given to candidates located near our offices in Chippenham, Croydon, Birmingham, Coventry and Glasgow. Siemens Mobility Rail Infrastructure supplies railway markets the world over with solutions and turnkey installations for railway automation and telecommunication. Our customers are infrastructure operators and mainline railways all round the world as well as industrial railways and public transport authorities in cities and megacities. The Role: Supported by Senior Project Managers to help guide the planning and lead implementation of projects delivering a technical solution which meets the customers’ needs and complies with industry specifications. Project Management roles demand developed communication and interpersonal skills as you will collaborate with teams across the business to understand and deliver solutions to the customer. This includes Products, Services & Engineering teams, Sales, Accounting and Planning, as well as frequently liaising, influencing and establishing rapport with our customers. What will be Your Responsibilities? Establish a highly motivated high performing, success orientated team to meet the project requirements. Provide project reports as required to the business and to clients. Represent the company at meetings as required with the client, main contractor, project team, and other relevant decision-makers in respect of matters arising on the project Carefully prepare in conjunction with your commercial management all correspondence and written and verbal transactions related to the conduct of the project works both technical and commercial. Understand, take into account and put forward or present a strategic viewpoint when it comes to the finances and delivery of the project. Plan strategy for maintaining good relations, communicating and exchanging information with the customer and other interested parties (stakeholders). Ensure the correct emphasis is placed on HSQE and is always demonstrated by your leadership and behaviour. Ensure the HSQE protection and compliance of Siemens operations, activities and employees. (Ultimately responsible for ensuring that their area of the business meets all its HSQE obligations to all affected parties and for assisting the wider business to meet its HSQE obligations). The Person: The role of Project Manager will be suitable to Junior Non-Commissioned Officers and above who can demonstrate experience in the planning and execution of projects, i.e., the planning and execution of power or water supply to temporary or semi-permanent camps. A clear understanding of what makes a project and understanding of the project lifecycle are essential. Siemens has a unique PM training & development programme, PM@Siemens, that the successful candidate will be enrolled on to develop them into a first class and qualified Project Manager What Qualifications and Experience do I need? Project Management or Engineering experience at a similar level Transferable knowledge from your experience as a member of the military. Project management experience ideally within infrastructure projects but other large project experience will be beneficial. Further education qualifications desirable Leadership and motivational skills. Technical & engineering skills, qualifications & experience Good IT skills/ Computerised Information Systems, including MS Office applications, and knowledge of Primavera Project software or similar Strong management skills & ability in terms of, written & verbal communication; presentation skills; problem identification, categorisation and solving; people skills; stakeholder management; negotiation skills and change management. This assessment centre will take place at The National Rail Academy for Rail (NTAR) on 28th & 29th March 2023, with a targeted programme start date of 10th July 2023. Upon successfully joining Siemens, you will undertake an intensive 6-week training period before moving into a permanent role within our Rail Infrastructure business.
