AstraZeneca’s Finance function is on a transformation journey with the objective of delivering excellence in financial operations and insight. A new operating model is being established for AZ Finance, which includes the establishment of a new organization, Global Finance Services. GFS provides services for FP&A, Record to Report, Controlling and Tax to customers in Commercial, Science, Operations & Enabling Functions and Group Finance. The EMEA hub is being created here in Warsaw.
Role purpose
Projects Coordinator GFS EMEA will manage a portfolio of projects supported by GFS EMEA employees with the focus on improving projects prioritization, planning, resourcing, and management to increase long-term delivery and project effectiveness. The purpose of this role is also to ensure current and future projects are delivered in line with best practice project management techniques appropriate to the type and scale of projects and delivering the expected business benefit.
Providing project portfolio assurance to the Senior Management will enable meeting operational and strategic objectives
Responsibilities:
- Working with Senior Management and all units to create a project roadmap aligned and prioritized in order to deliver GFS strategic and business objectives
- Manage projects inter-dependencies and provide effective resource forecast/resource capacity plan to support delivery of prioritized opportunities
- Maintain an updated status of projects, including site risks/issues
- Liaise with all site and project leaders to provide Site Leader with detailed schedule of upcoming projects impacting the site (workshops, local visitors, go-lives, etc) and escalate site risks/issues where required
- Provide GFS Programme Director summary of site-specific view of projects (resource & project status), highlighting risks/issues
- Drive globally standard project governance for GFS internal, site-level or regional projects driven within the site (ie. charters, outcome metrics, benefits tracking)
- Support prioritization efforts to maintain BAU while delivering on projects within the site
- Provide expertise to project managers/site leadership and information related to other projects
- Build and manage supportive relationships with diverse stakeholders across the organisation
Essential criteria
- Master’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in project portfolio management in global environment, including portfolio assurance, delivery and governance
- Experienced in business analysis and strategic planning, including requirements definition and business case production and ability to translate the requirements into practical implementation
- A proven influencer with an excellent communication skills in English, both written and in person and with the ability to synthesize and explain complex information to a range of audiences
- Able to co-ordinate various project participants (colleagues, volunteers, contracted parties etc.) through expert leadership, motivation and teamwork to achieve common objectives and targets
- Able to establish credibility, and maintain positive relationships, with people and teams from a range of functional, professional, linguistic and cultural backgrounds, including those who are not familiar with project management
- High-level of IT literacy (Ms Office – MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project)
Desirable criteria
- An industry standard qualification in project, portfolio or program management (PMP, Agile Methodologies or other industry standard certification)
- Experience in providing training or coaching to others, especially in project, program or change management
- Experience in process analysis, facilitating workshops and organizational change management
