The Role.

The PMO & Partnership leads projects from initiation to implementation within agreed constraints of time, budget and quality. The role typically has responsibility for both people and budget. They shape solutions and ensure that business requirements are effectively captured and have a good knowledge of different supplier solutions that could support project, and is responsible for risk management, benefits & value management, and as appropriate resolves or escalates identified risks and issues. A Project Manager helps ensure that project teams adopt quality and compliance standards, policies and procedures, and supports project assurance activities.

The PMO and Partnership also acts as Business Development Manager, supporting major transactions or may lead smaller scale opportunities.  Will work closely with business clients to identify and evaluate opportunities.  Will have specialist knowledge and strong data rational evaluation skills; able to exercise judgement in making decisions with incomplete information.  Will ensure intra-team communications are effective.  Will use and adapt AZ standard templates and approaches to ensure transactions are process compliant.

Accountabilities

• Accountable for the delivery of projects/programs on time and on budget

• Agree project plans including activities, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities and quality assurance.

• Follows project work plans and recommends revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements

• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope to ensure timely completion of project and meeting deadlines of project

• Manages relationships with  key business stakeholders to ensure business requirements are effectively captured and committed to project objectives

• Ensures that impact and changes resulting from projects/programs are effectively communicated to the business

• Builds and leads project teams, communicating roles and responsibilities whilst encouraging teamwork and collaboration amongst the team and business stakeholders

• Contributing and periodically leading the identification of the best (value) research, collaborations and in-licensed compounds, technologies and companies which are aligned with business strategy

• Maintain a strong network of academic and small biotech companies with regular interactions and discussions within the therapeutic area

• Work closely with business clients to understand their collaboration and licensing needs

• Manage the evaluation of potential collaboration opportunities (primarily alliances/ collaborations, and licensing/ acquisition deals)

• Assist and on occasions lead evaluation of late stage opportunities

• Take a leadership role in smaller scale opportunities

Qualification:

• Minimum Bachelor degree, preferably in Pharmaceutical or Science Degree from Highly reputable university,

• Minimum of 10-15 years sales and/ or marketing experience in ethical pharma/ medical device industry, mostly in MNC

• Fluent in English

• Has had progressive career journey in the last 10 years, moving to more complex/ bigger roles few times.

• Significant project management experience.

• Well developed organisational and interpersonal skills
