Group Technology enables the organisation to achieve its strategic direction whilst driving shareholder value. The division establishes common standards and IT governance across the business. It further develops and manages core applications enabling smooth operational running of the organisation across all functions. We drive and deliver future roadmaps aligned with the overall strategic direction of the business. Group Technology supports services to over 7500 end users across the globe, manages the information security operation, and safeguards all our assets. Our core Group Technology functions include Technical Architecture, Networ&Voice, IT Security, Service Delivery, Solutions Delivery, and Asset Management. Group Technology has a global presence across all regions with over 400 staff.

Job Purpose

The Senior Project Manager will manage highly visible and critical projects, delivering against project goals efficiently and effectively. The candidate must be able to apply advanced project management expertise experience to lead a project and achieve results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with internal business and technical teams to ensure business requirements are defined, documented and delivered
  • Managing relationships and contracts with third-party technology suppliers/partners
  • Owning and managing all project management deliverables including the delivery plan and RAID logs, as well as matrix management of project resources. Managing and mitigating risks and issues and tracking all decisions/dependencies
  • Agreeing on project governance, suitable for the project, and ensuring that it is aligned with the Project Governance Framework
  • Performing stakeholder analysis and building a stakeholder communication plan for stakeholders across the business
  • Managing projects from vision through requirements, design, build, and test and post-implementation support (including an appropriate gating process)
  • Ensuring smooth handover of overall agreed deliverables
  • Supporting the business owner in tracking and monitoring benefits realization against planned targets

Skills & Experience

  • Track record of delivering IT-enabled projects in large organizations
  • Experience working with central functions teams such as Finance and HR
  • Experience working within an IT change function as part of a virtual cross-functional and multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to create and manage a detailed plan with associated governance to ensure delivery to time, cost, and quality
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships using interpersonal and influencing skills to support project delivery
  • PRINCE2 or similar project management accreditation desirable but not essential
