Job Description

Job Purpose:
The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and deliver projects within strict deadlines and within budget. This includes managing resources and coordinating the efforts of the internal team and third-party members to deliver scope according to plan. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

* Identifying the detailed requirements for the project and establish a clear and concise scope and project plan 
* Liaising with internal business and technical teams to ensure business requirements are defined, documented and delivered
* Managing the project whilst maintaining a clear understanding of tasks, dependencies and progress
* Agreeing project governance, suitable for the project, and ensuring that it is aligned with the Project Governance Framework.
* Giving clear and unambiguous updates to the Programme Manager and stakeholders
* Effectively managing project communications through regular team updates, reporting and management of the steering group
* Driving the business change elements of the change through communication, business readiness and training
* Managing and co-ordinating all project team members, whether they are internal to client resources or third-party resources
* Ensure resource availability and allocation to deliver to the timelines and escalating when required 
* Owning and managing all project management deliverables including the delivery plan and RAID logs, as well as matrix management of project resources. Managing and mitigating risks and issues and tracking all decisions/dependencies.
* Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
* Report and escalate to management all risks and issues and project proposed changes for approval 
* Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders responsible for the specific workstreams 
* Manage the costs and budget for the project and tracking realisation of the project benefits against planned targets
* Perform risk management to minimise project risks 
* Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
* Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Skills and Experiences:

* Prince 2 Project Management certification (or equivalent) at Practitioner level
* Extensive experience of leading large sized cross-functional projects and programmes (both budget and complexity), following a known project management methodology
* Experience in leading a variety of large projects in multiple disciplines
* Excellent Stakeholder Management and communication Skills
* Demonstrable problem-solving skills with ability to facilitate problem solving discussions and workshops
* Ability to prioritise and manage deliverables, and teams in a high-pressure environment to maintain critical path and meet stretching goals
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
* Strong Word / Excel / PowerPoint skills
* Strong attention to detail and high standards in delivering outputs
* Ability to see the big picture and communicate effectively
* Ability to work with business users at all levels
* Self-starter with little need to be managed
* Ability to work in a fast-moving environment
* Accustomed to working to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality of work
