Job Description

Background: - 

The Medical Device Testing Lab (MDTL) is an HKSTP new initiative aiming at supporting the design verification & validation for medical device through earlier R&D stages to production. The lab aims to provide accredited testing services as well as related consultancy services to the medical device companies from Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas for obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals. 

 

Responsibilities: - 

  • Manage contractors and operator through the design, construction, establishment, and operation of MDTL by phases
  • Manage stakeholders and develop outcome measures from the collaboration with operator
  • Manage testing equipment procurement and relevant service procurement
  • Develop business plan, marketing strategy, budget and progress report
  • Oversee MDTL operation such as equipment maintenance as well as engage MDTL service projects
  • Develop and implement QMS for MDTL through collaboration with operator to obtain HOKLAS and CNAS accreditations within the planned budget & timeline
  • Provide necessary mentoring and coaching. Facilitate hiring, training, and supervising of MDTL staff where applicable
  • Prepare board papers wherever applicable
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

 

Requirements: - 

  • University post graduate degree holder in Materials Science/Engineering, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Holder of professional qualifications is preferred
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years’ work experience in testing (Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent) services with ISO17025 experience. Experience in medical device testing lab operation & accreditation is preferred
  • Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics and follow leadership directives at appropriate times
  • Proactive, dynamic, mature with superior interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and external stakeholders and collaborators
  • Demonstrated track record of successful project execution and having a professional network of contacts in the region, the Mainland and overseas
  • A good command of English and Chinese, written and verbal, with excellent presentation skills
  • Knowledge of medical device testing and development would be an advantage
