Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking a Project Manager Specialist – Microgrid and Distributed Generation to join our team. This position can be based in Richmond, VA, Wilsonville, OR, Littleton, CO, Lafayette, CO, Chandler, AZ, Pleasanton, CA or Roseville, CA. This position can also be worked remotely within our western region. Position Overview: The Project Manager will provide expertise in electrical, civil, structural and mechanical aspects of large design build, microgrid and distributed Generation Projects. This role is charged with supporting the sales force and zone manager during the front-end sales process to ensure a seamless transition from quote into execution. In this role you will: Design Build projects and process Integrate systems and manage a cross-functional work group through standard project process and procedures. Implement project financial controls Develop and maintain project schedules Work with and manage design teams Improve subcontractor inefficiencies Manage subcontractor budgets Manage a safe work environment and program Create and maintain project Quality Assurance/Quality Control process Create, prioritize and maintain project action item list. Maintain accurate as-built documentation and punch-lists Maintain daily/weekly progress reports Document control experience and expertise When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Associates degree from an accredited institution with minimum 7 years of project management experience OR high school diploma with minimum 12 years of project management experience. Must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Preferred qualifications: Bachelors' degree Electrical Engineering or Project Management from an accredited institution Professional Engineer qualification PMP Certified General Contractors License Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA Position Criteria: Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety program and policies. Periodically submit to background & drug screens as required by customers for on-site work. Working knowledge of all software packages relevant to successful performance of tasks including Microsoft Project, Primavera Scheduling software, and Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication skills particularly with communicating technical information to non-technical personnel, educating customers, and presenting information. Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
