Project Manager (Structural Section) (Ref. 20042303-E2)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
assist the Senior Project Manager to manage and administer the planning and development of the University’s facilities/buildings and long-term accommodation requirements in support of its strategic and general development;
co-ordinate briefs/performance specifications, monitor the progress and quality assurance of capital works, alterations and additions (A&A) works as well as monitor the furnishing and fitting-out of new buildings and renovated accommodation;
manage, administer and monitor capital works and A&A works from inception to completion;
ensure the stability, strength and rigidity of build structure for buildings to maintain its structural integrity and safety when executing works;
arrange the appointment of consultants and contractors, monitor and assess the consultants’ proposals on A&A projects, as well as supervise and coordinate the work of consultants and contractors, including the design and preparation of necessary drawings, specifications and briefs for conversions and modifications;
coordinate and liaise with service units and user departments of the University and with the Government as well as external bodies on capital and A&A projects;
establish the quality and statutory standards in A&A and improvements works and co-ordinate with the Facilities Management Office in maintaining the standards;
supervise professional/technical staff;
provide professional advice and support to members of other Divisions/Sections of the Office; and
perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Development or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
have a recognised degree or above in Structural Engineering or a related discipline plus at least eight years of relevant post-qualification experience;
be a Registered Professional Engineer (RPE) in structural discipline;
have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua;
have good interpersonal and presentation skills; and
be proactive and result-oriented, and must be able to formulate/implement plans independently and work under pressure.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
