RWS Regulated Industries division: provides a full suite of language services exclusively for highly regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, Financial services, and Legal industries.  This includes language solutions for clinical trial management and linguistic validation of Clinical Outcomes Assessments (COAs), insurance, retail, commercial and investment banking, compliance, mergers & acquisitions and Litigation

About The Role:

This is a leadership role in charge of a team of project managers based in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Korea servicing a number of high profile regional and international customers within the Legal industry.

The Team Lead is to support and enable their reports to maintain the highest standards of service, professional conduct and customer satisfaction while keeping quality, compliance and profitability under control. This role reports into the PMO Director based in Hong Kong and works closely with the Sales team based in Singapore, Hong Kong, China and South Korea.

In addition to the localization industry knowledge, the position requires strong leadership, communication and analytical skills, the ability to motivate teams and lead by example, plan and execute strategic objectives across his/her part of the organization and display sound business acumen.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Train, support and provide feedback on performance to designated production team
  • Manage team holidays, sickness, absence, discipline and appraisals
  • Manage workload ensuring tasks are allocated evenly within the team and provide/ask for support from the wider local and global production platform
  • Monitor that established procedures are adhered to at all times and meet RWS quality standards, as well as customers’ strict compliance requirements.
  • Organize/attend production-related client meetings, coordinate process review on main accounts and facilitate creation of relevant reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Exercise sound judgment in keeping your manager informed of potential difficulties such as issues affecting cost, customer satisfaction, staffing and other key team’s needs
  • Hands-on production involvement when required
  • Carry out risk and compliance assessments
  • Monitor, manage and escalate complaints
  • Continually identify areas of efficiency and implement strategies to improve processes
  • Organise and monitor resource needs and escalate where appropriate
  • Identify Team’s training requirements and action as required
  • Drive effective communication and excellence in performance within the team
  • Provide support for Sales in relation to existing and new business
  • Monitor Sales forecast and strategy
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Language Delivery and Engineering departments to ensure successful delivery of work

  • Qualifications:

  • Degree level (BA, BS) in Languages or Translation and/or Interpretation or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in localization project management, preferably in the legal industry and knowledgeable in interpretation services.
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in English, Mandarin or a second (APAC) language would be a plus
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, html, xml).X
  • Experience in the use of CAT tools (including TRADOS, Multiterm IX, Context, glossary and file management tools).
  • Ability to multi task in a deadline driven environment
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment
