Research and Development Office (Knowledge Transfer Sub-Office)
We are looking for a high caliber candidate to join CLAP for Youth @ JC (“CLAP”) phase II, which is a five-year project initiated by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It will focus on fostering a sustainable ecosystem to facilitate youth with their transition from school to work, enabling them to pursue a fulfilling life through cross sector collaborations in school, community and workplace.
The appointee will play a key role as Associate Director (School Benchmarks) of the School-Benchmarks (School-BM) part of the project led by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). Successful candidate will be the second-in-command in the “One Team” and will contribute to career and life development (CLD) education among Hong Kong schools, based on the core values and concepts of Hong Kong Benchmarks (HKBM). He/she will be responsible for deputizing for the Director (School Benchmarks) of the project to lead, coordinate and execute the School-BM project plans in order to achieve project objectives; providing managerial steering and support to the “One Team” and the members in supporting project/ network schools to build up a sustainable career and life development (CLD) through whole school approach; working closely with cross-disciplinary team members (including the “One Team”) to enhance collaboration and liaisons in the project; assisting the Director (School Benchmarks) to manage financial budgets and the deployment of personnel of the project; managing administrative staff to support the operation of project plans (including training programmes, resource development, research projects and HKBM facilitation) and the centre for CLD education in Hong Kong; and performing other duties as assigned by the Director (School Benchmarks) of the project. The appointment will commence in September 2020 for a period of 30 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree in education or management-related fields, with at least 12 years' post-qualification working experience in management. They should have impressive experience in large-scale project leadership in education or youth development fields. Experience in working with education, youth sector, business-school partnership projects will be an advantage. Applicants should have awareness of recent developments in the education system with particular reference to current trends in career and life development in Hong Kong. They should have skills and experience in human resources, financial budgeting and knowledge management; excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong political acumen; and good command of both English and Chinese.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include contract-end gratuity, leave, medical and dental benefits.
