At the Langenselbold site, we produce microbiological safety cabinets, CO2 incubators, microbiological incubators, heating and drying cabinets, vacuum drying cabinets and high-temperature ovens on an area of almost 15,000 m². The sales and order processing departments, which operate throughout Europe, cover additional product areas, such as laboratory consumables and water treatment systems.

In addition, Langenselbold is home to the EMEA LabAutomation Business, which manufactures, among other things, movers, automated incubators & storage devices, control software and automated systems for a wide range of applications such as synthetic biology, analytical workflows and high throughput applications. Langenselbold is also the global headquarters of the Cytomat product line (automated incubators). In the areas of production, development, product management, purchasing, sales, service, project management and administration, the site currently employs approximately 695 people.

For our LabAutomation Business, we are currently looking for a

Project Manager (m/w/d) individual customer Solutions
 
As a Project Manager, you will successfully manage the execution of custom Lab Automation projects for the pharma / biopharma research industries. This will involve leading cross-functional teams including; electrical and mechanical design, software developers, procurement and integrators for equipment built and installed at our various customers globally. The projects will also require coordination with other Thermo Fisher divisions producing highly specialized lab instruments that are integrated into the automated systems. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of medical research through automation that welcomes qualified candidates from a wide range of industries.

What will you do?
  • Serve as a key customer contact to communicate project status, resolve project issues, and relay customer feedback
  • Chair functional and cross-functional team meetings to effectively manage and communicate the project activities and status
  • Direct the assigned resources from our Canadian Operations office and local Field Service teams to successfully complete projects on time and on budget
  • Create and maintain detailed schedules specific to the customer’s projects
  • Determine the requirements for the system software, together with the Tactical Software group
  • Participate in team design reviews and help develop technical solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Prepare the system specification and documentation of the customer’s requirements, and obtain customer approval
  • Maintain project documentation including record-keeping, current project status reports, change orders, and budget tracking
  • Prepare the Purchase Requisitions for materials and equipment
  • Review bills of materials and track material deliveries in the ERP system
  • Ensure that the system meets the requirements of the customer specification, conduct FATs/SATs with the customer and obtain approval
  • Create on-site-integration and testing plans
  • Ensures that the system complies with the local legislated requirements (such as CE, various European equipment directives, RoHS 2, REACH, etc.) and our Operation’s Quality Management System
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the PMO and Operation’s processes
 
How will you get here?
  • University degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) in mechanical or electrical engineering, mechatronics or related science discipline
  • several years of experience with laboratory or custom-built automated equipment is highly desirable
  • Experience in a Project Management role
  • PMP® certified
  • Experience with management of projects in a structured PMO environment
  • High proficiency utilizing MS Project (or equivalent)
  • Experience in creating detailed customer specifications for customer approval
  • Knowledge of cost and schedule management
  • Experience with ERP systems (ex. SAP, Navision, etc.)
  • Strong organizational, planning and time-management skills
  • Strong communication skills; verbal, written, and presentation
  • Fluent English speaking and writing skills
  • Software literate with proficiency in Microsoft applications

  • Valid Passport
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time internationally without restrictions
