Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for:
1. Planning and execution of strategic projects, ensuring activities are:
a. On time
b. To budget
c. Quality: i.e. Service levels are not impacted
d. Communication
2. Establishing the new manufacturing site in China
3. Program management office across the company

3.1. Lead and motivate an effective team, across functions and across management reporting lines
3.2. Set clear tasks and milestones and follow up on actions to ensure projects are a success
3.3. Manage and negotiate necessary resources and support to meet project goals
3.4. Develop the project management and team working processes across company to achieve a standard best practice
3.5. Provide inspiration to others
3.6. Provide open and constructive feedback to those working on project tasks
3.7. Ensure that service levels are maintained during projects and that stock levels / resources are built to ensure flawless execution

4.1. Establish and implement a model for effective team work
4.2. Ensure teams understand their roles, tasks and have an effective feedback process for measuring and improving their performance and effectiveness
4.3. Establish working processes such as: communication, planning, decision making, problem solving required for effective teams

5.1. Challenge the status quo to create novel approaches to ensure project tasks are completed on time
5.2. Use relevant project management and team leadership tools and help further develop these across the organization
5.3. Ensure post – project reviews take place to establish a data base of best practice and learning

6.1. Ensure that company’s activities have minimal impact on our planet. To ensure that our planet can be enjoyed by future generations.
6.2. Reduce year on year the impacts in terms of waste from processes or energy &resource; consumed in the process
6.3. Ensure that company conducts its operations in a safe and non harmful way causing no risk to our employees or stakeholders.
6.4. Conduct project activity risk assessments
6.5. Regularly review risk assessments to eliminate and reduce risks and ensure that contingency plans are developed around critical actions or bottle neck resources
7. Results orientation
7.1. Gets to answers quickly and focuses on the key issues.
7.2. Demonstrates a high sense of urgency and impatience. Shows low tolerance for inaction, slow pace, bureaucracy and undue process.
7.3. Uses fact-based analysis or external bench marking to establish new ways of doing things in order to deliver a higher level of performance of company’s operations.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. Project Spend – v - Budget. Responsible and accountable for all project expenses. Report back comparing to original project charter and budget.
2. Project time plan adherence. Track projects and adhere to project milestones
3. Project quality level. Ensure quality of project execution, KPI may be dependent on project e.g. in production transfer it could be “In Full Service level” & “Shipments of defective products”
4. Issue log control Maintain, manager and monitor all project issues in a controlled manner.
5. Project team effectiveness. Use task, team, individual scoring process to measure the effectiveness of the project team. Maintain the measure over the during of the project life cycle. Use this to drive direct feed back on performance in terms of:
5.1. What went well and should do more of
5.2. What did not go well and should do less of
6. Project specific KPIs, Specific and relevant measures depending on the needs of the particular project in question

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Educated to degree level
2. 15 years plus project management experience
3. Culturally aware
4. Demonstrate success on an international platform working across Europe and Asia
5. Senior cross functional project management / program office experience
6. Developed and implemented strategic plans and familiar with multi year strategic planning processes
7. Can speak Chinese & ideally of French Origin
