Job Description
- Directly assuring EPC’s obligations against the contract for all contracting activities aligned with the EPC contract for the module fabrication yards “the Yards”
- Drafting of commercial responses to Contractor’s communications and drafting of Company initiated commercial communications
- Integrating the outputs from the QS team and understanding of progress, project execution, and verification of resources (people, equipment etc), as part of inputs into commercial communications
- Entitlement assessments on fabrication related variation notices and variation requests
- Support quantum assessments on fabrication related variation requests
- Lead commercial strategy and tactics collaborating with an integrated contract management team on nightmare scenarios developing appropriate claims mitigation and management plans on the same
- Coordinate integrated contracting delivery to the project across Project team, CP Operations, Construction, Category Management, Claims teams
- Perform effective business partnering with Project Manager, Project Engineers, Contract Holders, Contract Owners, Engineering Managers, Functional leaders (Finance, Legal, Project Services)
- Participate in relevant site meetings at the Yards representing CP, taking and/or verification actions/minutes
- Manage project contracting strategies and tactics that meet the project technical, cost, and schedule requirements
- Develop, execute, and manage any Company Provided Items (CPI) contracts in country that supports the module fabrication yards
- Lead a highly effective contractor performance management program
- Effectively manage contract claims avoidance and variations at contract and project level to achieve the best commercial outcome
- Identify, develop, and implement supply chain improvement opportunities
- Ensure supply chain delivery supports Goal Zero by supporting Project Management team in implementation and verification of robust Contractor Safety Management, Worker Welfare, and Quality Management practices
- Build and maintain a strong network in the market, being fully aware of supplier developments and opportunities
- Brings external market/supplier views and benchmarks into conversation and provide commercial challenge and guidance
- Proactively identify and understand commercial/contractual/procurement needs from internal stakeholders and collaboratively propose competitive solutions
- Ensure application of relevant CP policies and procedures using commercial judgement, common sense and a simplification mind-set, understanding the difference between non-negotiable compliance elements (Safety, E&C, Code of Conduct, Law) and CP operating practices, while always keeping a project delivery focus
Qualifications
- Minimum CP JG3 (15+ years’ experience) Competency with a preference for CP Projects JG3 Competency, including experience in application of the CP Projects Expected Practices and Outcomes (EPO)
- Deepwater and/or Flagship projects experience preferred
- Strong CP experience in supply chain strategy development and execution, complex EPC contract negotiations, contract/supplier performance management, claims management, procurement operations, and contract close-out.
- Sound understanding of major capital projects development and execution including the Project Management Framework
- Prior experience with complex engineering, fabrication and construction services contracts
- Highly tuned commercial acumen and curiosity with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver value from complex deals
- Good understanding of Legal, Finance, Economics, and Commercial issues associated with flagship capital projects
- Uncompromising on HSSE and Ethics & Compliance
- Collaborates and integrates within CP and project team
- Highly driven, ‘can do’, inspiring, able to articulate in a crisp and precise manner
- Has effective influencing skills and can flex his/her style to audience
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to champion change/improvement opportunities despite internal and external stakeholder resistance
- Ability to lead and coach among peers, internal business partners, and external partners.
