With our recent acquisition of RailTerm, we are growing our team and hiring a Project Signal Maintainer. RailTerm is a North American corporation that provides rail operation services, including dispatching, track and signal maintenance, and intermodal terminal management. We also offer signals, communications, and software systems and licenses the TrainMaster Rail Traffic Control (RTC) software to independent railroads. Key Responsibilities and Functions Perform a range of tasks related to signaling maintenance to support the maintenance team (support on capital projects, replace on holidays, assist on regular maintenance, support special or construction projects, etc. Carry out tests and verify the proper functioning of signaling and communication systems and equipment in an assigned territory Investigate and analyze problems to identify failures and implement corrective actions Perform a variety of maintenance work vital to ensure that the equipment continues to operate as always intended Replace defective or used wires, barrier mechanism parts, CTC referrals, controls and commands, and all ancillary work Driving rail and road vehicles Ensure proper documentation and communication of required information. Required Skills and Qualifications Proven experience in a related field required High school diploma Post-secondary training in electronics, certification in railway signaling, or equivalent experience Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights Ability to read and understand drawings and specification Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations Ability to understand, interpret and record technical and non-technical information Safety-conscious work ethic Ability to perform a wide range of physical work (including lifting and moving approximately 60 lbs) Valid driver's license classified as "G" (Ontario) or "5" (Quebec) or higher.
