Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is currently seeking a Project Support Manager. This position will be based at our Raleigh, NC facility. This position does offer relocation assistance. In this role, you will manage the project support team, which is responsible for revenue forecasting, technical support, order entry, 3rd party supplier purchasing and continuous improvement of project management practices, within the Division’s Strategic Programs Business Unit. The position focuses on maximizing customer satisfaction while meeting internal productivity, backlog order management, technical support, and other organizational objectives. Responsible for budget and up to 11 direct reports; positions include Project Control Engineers, Project/Program Coordinators, Data Analyst and Procurement Coordinator. Scope of Business Unit responsibility is revenue forecasting, order entry, project submittals, backlog order management, project scheduling & equipment order tracking, Oracle project cost analysis & updates (estimates and actuals), customer claims, and warranty resolution. Additionally, position is responsible for financial support such as project financial closures that include inventory analysis as well as cost savings projects. Skills and responsibilities include: Directs workflow within the team, forecasts the projected workload, and manages the assignment of new business and changes within the Business Unit. Oversee/monitor day-to-day activity of resources service delivery, quality/delivery issues and other job specific transactional elements of the relationship (e.g. coordination of equipment and integration schedules, loading of estimated costs to Oracle as well as actual cost tracking, updating and reporting of changes to schedules and the impact to financials). Required to have excellent business financial skills to understand the financial impact of projects, risk, etc. and should have or develop knowledge of Eaton’s internal accounting and operating systems, at a minimum Vista, Oracle, and QlikView. Position is also required to have excellent communications and presentation skills. Computer usage is required and excellent written communications is mandatory, including monthly reporting, reports to customers, internal documents, etc. Implements procedures and guidelines for Project Order Administration/Coordination, Project Engineering, and government compliance requirements. Guides the effective order management for the Business Unit of up to $125M in new projects each year and must be completed with a high degree of customer satisfaction and within Eaton’s established procedures and ethics. Prepare monthly Operations reports and assist in financial planning and forecasting of Projects assigned. Oversee or execute of invoicing, order management, project submittals, terms and conditions, etc. Project Support Manager must perform all administrative duties as required to manage their direct staff of up to 11 employees. This includes deriving and implementing goals and development plans as well as conducting performance evaluations for constructive feedback as required by Eaton’s performance management process. Improves the productivity of projects managed using EBS tools by supporting project margin improvement initiatives inclusive of Cost Avoidance and Cost Savings Projects for the Business Unit. Establishes and maintains a relationships and leadership role with the various key executives, stakeholders and central decision makers (internal customers) such as Eaton assembly plants and product lines as well as external key stakeholders such as third-party suppliers. Ensure connections and relationships with 3rd parties (consulting engineers, EPCs, contractors, manufacturers of “adjacent’ equipment) who have, or could have, significant influence in project opportunity. Evaluates customer feedback (CSS, Customer Satisfaction Survey) and provides data to organization and develops & implements action plan(s) to address negative responses. Maintain effective relationships with and service to customers. Identify and assist in development of prospective project opportunities. Interface and coordinate with districts, plants and other business units within the company and outside vendors to procure parts and services for the assigned projects. Facilitate teaming with districts and departments to support multi-district customers and or industries. Establishes performance objectives and evaluates and reports on results and improves processes based on analysis of gaps in desired performance. Implements and shares process improvements among the teams. Help establish the Business Unit strategy and leads and manages the implementation of support systems required to effectively manage projects and required reports. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum 10 years’ experience to include Field Sales, Project Management, Engineering or Product Management assignments Legally authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship. Position Criteria: Superior knowledge of sales techniques, customers, and customer relations Successful managerial experience. Strong leadership, development, and motivation skills Extensive knowledge of Bid Manager/OrderManager/CQM/VISTA/Oracle/QlikView Managerial ability to pull people on to your team from different work groups (i.e. credit dept., plants, distributors, warranty, BPC, CDC ) A strong working knowledge of all Eaton’s electrical products, with emphasis on ETO and ATO products and their application, and competitive offerings.
