YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Protein Biochemist, are to: 

• Be responsible for complex projects for the expression of recombinant proteins in bacterial cells or other expression systems;
• Develop and optimize protein purification procedures from plant tissues, and bacterial or insect cells;
• Develop and validate enzyme assays;
• Perform protein characterization using a panel of analytical methods;
• Perform data documentation and preparation of reports;
• Manage studies under GLP requirements;
• Conduct novel process improvement activities that require specialized knowledge and the broad application of scientific principles;
• Take initiative in keeping current with literature in areas of assignment and in areas of professional interest.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Ph.D. with minimum years relevant experience or M.S. with minimum of two years relevant experience or B.S. with minimum of five years relevant experience;
• Ability to conduct research and contribute to research projects, technologies, publications, intellectual property, or trade secrets;
• Technical knowledge and hands on experience of protein expression, purification and protein analytical techniques;
• Proven track record of being able to work with strict deadlines in a highly demanding and dynamic environment;
• Ability to handle multiple projects at one time;
• Excellent written communication, data documentation, and oral presentation skills.
