What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be a be part of a protein design and engineering group within our Biologics organization, which is responsible for biologics discovery and optimization at Amgen.
- Responsible for applying modeling and informatics techniques to impact and accelerate the drug discovery process.
- Work on multiple large molecule modalities such antibodies, therapeutic proteins and multi-specific molecules, as well as target proteins.
- Be adept at working in teams and will initiate and drive partnerships with interdisciplinary groups within Amgen.
- Represent the department on cross-functional teams, as well as growing your external scientific presence through presentations and publications.
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree OR
- Master’s degree and 4 years of scientific experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline plus relevant postdoctoral experience
- Familiarity with relevant protein modeling and protein design software packages (MOE, Schrodinger, Rosetta, etc.)
- Experience with developing analysis methodologies and computational workflows for biologics such as antibodies and proteins
- Proficiency in Python or other programming languages
- Ability to integrate wet lab experimental results and computational design techniques in a design-build-test cycle is a strong plus
- Desire to be part of a team to translate goals into action, prioritize a range of activities and projects, and forge productive cross-site collaborations with partner functions
- Strong written and verbal communication
