Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This intern will assists with exploring new technologies and techniques to support biological development staff and to provide on-the-training on process development activities

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Protein Purification - International Intern, are to: 

 

  • Design and perform experiments to develop a scalable purification process;
  • Leverage knowledge of protein chemistry, preparative chromatography and/or membrane separation techniques to develop manufacturing process of biologics;
  • Perform protein purification using AKTA Explorer or Avant, Unicorn and ChemStation programming;
  • Isolate and purify protein using dead-end filtration, chromatography, and/or TFF;
  • Organize, mine and analyze a large pool of development data;
  • Perform statistical analysis of experimental data;
  • Analyze process samples using analytical methods such as ELISA, CE, SDS-PAGE, HPLC;
  • Maintain and stock laboratories consumables and participate in general laboratories activities as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Currently enrolled in the sophmore or junior year of undergraduate/Bachelor-level studies OR 1st year Master’s level student in in chemical engineering, biological; engineering, chemistry, biochemistry or related scientific field;
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university outside U.S.A.;
  • Available for 12 consecutive months from June 2020-June 2021;
  • Ability to work her-/himself quickly into new fields;
  • Must be a team player and have good communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge in protein chemistry, preparative chromatography and/or membrane separation techniques;
  • Experience in protein purification using AKTA Explorer or Avant, Unicorn and ChemStation programming;
  • Experience in protein purification using dead-end filtration, chromatography, TFF;
  • Experience in organizing and mining a large pool of development data;
  • Experience with statistical analysis software;
  • Experience with analytical methods such as ELISA, CE, SDS-PAGE, HPLC;
  • Candidate with previous research/development experience.
