Across the EMEA region, we are engaged in  hundreds of local conversations and negotiations with governments big and small.  We engage governments at local, regional and national levels directly and also use innovative advocacy and partnership strategies that actively involve our community and our stakeholders in making the case for fair, progressive home sharing rules.

The Role:

We are looking for a Public Policy and Campaign Operations Lead, EMEA to support our policy work and engagement in markets in EMEA. This role is a key member of the EMEA team, helping to shape and execute programmes to engage with policy stakeholders. The successful applicant will be working closely with other Campaign and Public Policy teams across EMEA, ensuring cross functional and EMEA wide projects are delivered. This role will report to the Director, Public Policy and Campaigns, EMEA.

In this role you will be highly skilled in both Management consultancy and Project management (definition of objectives, stakeholders coordination, execution and KPI measurement), data analysis and stakeholders management.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about Airbnb’s mission, and have proven understanding of policy matters and previous track record in Management consultancy. 

The preferred location of the role is Paris as the role is working alongside our EMEA Public Policy Director who is based in Paris, as well as our EMEA Regional Director but we will consider other EMEA locations.  We support  working from home, and the role holder will also need to do some travel to countries in EMEA also, and also sometimes to our global headquarters in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day to day campaign operations in EMEA to drive impact of cross functional projects. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools (Asana, Smart sheets, etc. ).
  • Provide support to Campaign teams in EMEA to define, implement and measure Policy engagement strategy in the Region
  • Be responsible for structuring and executing projects and complex engagement plans influencing policy development in EMEA and at EU level (set KPIs, create measurement frameworks, ensure key initiatives are on track, manage budget and analysis of results) 
  • In alignment with the EMEA Policy teams,  public policy teams in markets, Legal, Business and product teams, oversee and drive the operational implementation of policy proposals and legislative measures (platform regulation, STR, tax, data sharing). 
  • Prepare a diverse range of materials to support the successful Policy engagement strategy of the EMEA team
  • Draft written materials - policy position paper, messaging guidelines, Q&As, briefs, presentations, etc.

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of direct experience in Project management in a corporate environment (Strategy consulting firm a plus) or public institution. 
  • The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Project  Management and Data Analytics (Excel VBA and SQL). 
  • Impeccable organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to document processes & decisions made.
  • As an individual contributor, proven ability to work both independently and cross functionally. Experience of developing and leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Ability to navigate a complex political or regulatory environment. Ideally, this experience has been built in travel, urbanism or technology. Understanding of the political landscape and legislative processes in the EMEA is essential. Good knowledge of the political landscape at the local and national level in the region would be an advantage.
  • Ability to multi-task by prioritizing work and coordinating required support across various functions to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Excellent strategist, creative thinker and communicator, with great interpersonal, writing and presentation skills. 
  • Self-starter with a good sense of humor and the ability to thrive in a fast moving and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Candidates must speak fluent English.  It would be ideal if they also speak French, and any other European language. You must submit your application in English.
  • Ideal candidates will be comfortable with travel to other countries in EMEA often.
