Job Description
Job Summary The primary function of this position is to develop and maintain a purchasing organization that effectively meets organizational needs relative to the procurement of various goods and services in order to meet plant goals of OTD and DOH. Job Responsibilities Develop standardized purchasing strategies in conjunction with other departments to support operations supply requirements. Gathers data for analysis of quality, price, terms condition, capacity, manufacturing capability, financial condition, and supplier labor related issues Review and update strategies on a periodic basis to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the business Develop expectations and process for negotiations with suppliers regarding price, terms, quality, tooling, etc. "Develop and implement tools to ensure adequate supplier capacities are in place to support operation plans and to track Eaton and customer paid tooling within the supply base" Develop and implement tools that make buyers activities standard and lean "Develop and maintain on-going ethical supplier relationships, which foster a desire to furnish new ideas, and promote cooperation with Eaton on an on-going basis" "Develop and participate (as required) in negotiation process of Eaton claims (i.e., cost, time, rework, scrap, labor, sorting charges) with suppliers regarding non-conforming material" "Actively participate in teams working towards continuous process improvements, elimination of waste, simultaneous engineering, and advanced product quality planning" Actively participate in material cost reduction projects Follow up on key leading purchasing indicators and develop action plan to prevent materials impact . EHS Responsibilities: Separate hazardous waste from the common waste. Place hazardous waste (gloves, rags, etc.) in assigned containers. Keep clean the work área contaminant free. Do not waste water. Report any activity that may jeopardize my safety and the environment. Identify and properly dispose all the chemicals that may contaminate the environment. Ensure the correct container for the disposal of hazardous waste (identified containers and containers to prevent spills). Report the entry of new Chemicals required for Maintenance purposes due to mantain a record updated and assure the compliance of the correct handling of them. Contain oil spills and repair as necessary. #LI-MM3 Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or specialized degree in purchasing/logistics. APCIS preferred. Years and area of experience required: 5+ years of experience in supply chain management. Technical knowledge: Problem Solving Tools (A3, PDCA, 5WHY's, etc.) ERP/MRP System (SAP preferable), Bilingual (English/Spanish) required Soft skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, understanding of key financial metrics, leadership skills, strong analytical/problem solving skills working with other functions.
