Job Description
Eaton's growing Aerospace Division is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor responsible for determining and leading the implementation of policies and procedures (standard work) for tactical procurement of materials. This position will interface with the Aerospace Sourcing team, plant operations, and other supply chain functions in support of efforts to build strong supplier relationships that deliver reduced costs and inventory, and improved service. This position reports to the site Supply Chain Manager and leads a team of buyers. The position will also have tactical purchasing responsibilities to support ongoing needs. * Relocation assistance is available within the US for qualified candidates. This function will: Implement, and maintain procurement systems and procedures. Provide education and training to plant materials and purchasing personnel on current purchasing systems and techniques. Work closely with Engineering to Source Site specific materials and short-supply materials as well as New Product Development and End-of-Life (EOL) analysis. Lead and support cost savings initiatives and projects. Plan, coordinate, and monitor the movement of materials through the sales cycle to accurately forecast future production plans. Ensure the team of buyers successfully manages material shortages, backlogs, quality issues, and potential schedule interruptions or delivery delays. Track and monitor metrics that reflect customer satisfaction, lead time management, inventory DOH, and other metrics as required (such as SOTD daily Inventory value, Past Due Orders, SOTD, GRIR and critical component supply levels) Administer formal supplier improvement process to include quantitative supplier performance measures for quality and delivery performance. Develop and implement techniques, which maximize our purchase value and minimize the risk of unfavorable variances. Coordinate the establishment of our standard costs of purchased materials. Lead the inventory planning for the outside purchased finished goods. Manage the procurement of project tooling, MRO supplies, and finished goods as required. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution . Minimum two (2) years of experience purchasing/sourcing in a manufacturing environment. Experience with directly supervising or managing others. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or Marketing from an accredited institution Minimum five (5) years of progressive planning or buying experience in an ETO environment. Six Sigma Greenbelt certification. SAP Experience Inventory Management Knowledge APICS Certification Demonstrated sound decision-making skills.
