Job Purpose

• The Q&FS Coordinator is a key member of the factory Q&FS team and must ensure that all Raw Materials, Finished Goods and processes are in compliance with all Quality and Food Safety Requirements, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 as well as with Mars Quality Standards.
• The local Q&FS team plays a role of interface between the South African factory and the regional and global Q&FS Team
•  The QFS Coordinator is an active member of the Q&FS community

 

Key Responsibilites

• Monitors product conformity throughout the manufacturing conversion processes
• Link product review, customer complaints and internal non-conformances to identify global trends and action priority
•  Lead and manage customer complaints investigations

 

Context & Scope

• Animates the product review process
• Monitor product related nonconformities and records in the relevant system
• Verifies the efficiency of the CA and or PA related to product nonconformities
• To review and KPI all complaints received. Where appropriate, to coordinate an investigation and response with the appropriate manager. To feedback findings to the customer listening team. 
• To organize any analysis to further investigate complaints as agreed with QFS Manager
• To coordinate overall CI for complaints to target a year on year reduction in overall trend and by category.
• To assist, lead or support projects identified to reduce specific customer complaints or product performance.
• To link product review, complaints and internal non-conformances to identify global trends and action priority
• Produce all QFS KPIs related to the function
• Train associates and product related topics
• Prepares for and participates in internal and external audits
• Prepares for and participate in the period end review and Management review process
• Prepares for and participate in the FP monitoring process. Follow through on the agreed actions within allotted time
• Backup for System Specialist and QFS Manager as required by the business
•  Other duties as assigned by Line Manager

 

Education and Professional Qualifcations

• National Diploma in food science, quality or similar fields is preferred
• 3 yrs experience in a human food / pet food plant preferred
• Good communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Self-motivated, initiative, team player, safety & hygiene & quality conscious
• Fluent English

 

Knoweledge and Experience

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills required
• Excellent presentation skills
• Knowledge of food safety and nutrition is mandatory
• Able to work under pressure, manage and adapt to unexpected situations
• Microsoft Office proficiency required (Excel as priority)
• Self-motivated, initiative, team player, safety & hygiene & quality conscious
