Job Purpose / Overview

 

The Job owner is member of the Site R&D Team in MER and responsible for:

  • Implementation, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement of effective and lead quality systems to ensure a reliable and safe production within the legal requirements, the international and the Mars quality & food safety standards.
  • Close cooperation and exchange with the central team (Q&FS, RDT), the local Site PPI and Supply team (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance) to ensure that the knowledge is transferred, and the systems, standards (internal & external), procedures and controls are established.
  • Support a Manufacturing Site or Business Unit Q&FS team by managing and operating routine Q&FS processes & procedures.

 

What are we looking for?

 

Knowledge/Experience

 

  • The Jobholder has a professional education in Food Technology, Chemical or Food Engineering, Food Science, Process Technology, Quality/ISO or other comparable qualifications like a bachelor or master study.
  • Minimum 3 years job experience in one of the above mentioned job areas or finished study
  • Experience in sterilization processes will be appreciated
  • Experience in factory operation (food or pharmaceutical are preferred)
  • Quality - Food Safety background
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes used to produce food, feed and petfood ingredients.
  • Strong ability to work in multicultural teams and with people coming from different discipline and business areas.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to communicate and transfer knowledge to others in various forms (presentations, reports, training…)
  • English – advanced (written and spoken)
  • Office knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook), SAP, RADAR.
  • Knowledge about manufacturing processes & Raw material functionalities
  • Technical and scientific understanding for PCC

 

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

 

  • Manage & operate routine Q&FS processes, procedures and metrics
  • Lead Q&FS team in incident investigation & management
  • Prepare Q&FS data for analysis
  • Act as a product quality custodian & support building a quality culture in unit
  • Lead all the change management process for thermal operations
  • Lead the HACCP team raising issues of the process and evaluating risks
  • Be responsible for the deployment and follow up of new guidelines / standards
  • Lead Q&FS meetings, sharing learnings from other sites, work on SIRB solutions
  • Participate as quality contact in projects implementations (Engineering, Innovation, Standard implementation);
  • Responsible for the realization of agreed objectives, including short-term objectives to deliver to the site. Drive continuous improvement to improve the quality of our products, processes, performance and profitability à increase RFT.
  • Lead and support the quality and food safety on site, by helping in the implementation the appropriate quality management tools.
  • Responsible for the preparation and updating of Q&FS relevant training material. Conducting Q&FS trainings for the supply team up to the Site Management team.
  • Responsible of the identification and control of production line specific Critical Control Points including the development, validation and the support of the commissioning of PCC relevant technology.
  • Support the Independent and execution of gap analysis and initiating / taking appropriate actions.
  • Risk assessment of innovation, renovation and COGS projects for the site. Furthermore, of change management requests and of new raw materials for the site.
  • Lead the risk assessments for out of spec situations, level 2 trouble shootings and PRIMP’s.
  • Lead the analysis of consumer complaints and as a result, initiate and support continuous improvement plans à cpm reduction.
  • Internal auditor in the technology.
  • Back Up for the Q&FS DRY and SSE.
  • Lead the HACCP team and lead of the HACCP System in the responsible area.
  • Participate in risk analysis of usage of raw materials, finished products and operational procedures modifications to assure that quality and food safety risks are evaluated, and a proper contingency plan is defined and followed
  • Follow up and communicate Key Performance Indicators
  • Be the first line in incident management / Lead root cause analysis of incidents in Wet process
  • Detect and correct deficiencies in quality management process

Participate in regional/global Q&FS forums / Lead change management process for WET
