Q&FS Technician

The position provides key review of thermal process records to ensure conformance to regulatory requirements for food safety and established Mars quality standards. The Q&FS Technician proactively identifies changes to quality systems to minimize quality and/or food safety risks to the business and maintains strong preventative programs. The position is responsible for the maintenance of the required quality records and documentation, including all elements required by the USDA, FDA, CFIA, and FSSC 22000 standard in addition to all elements of the Mars QMP, except for HACCP programs. The position provides an ongoing organizational requirement to audit and report all quality records and measurement data, especially “critical factors” outlined in the process filing with the FDA. The job involves regulatory administration; training, auditing, problem-solving and assuring corrective actions are properly implemented.

 

What are we looking for?

  • BS Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agriculture, Agronomy or Genetics, and up to 1-year internship, co-op working in Food Manufacturing Industry 
  • Or equivalent experience in Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, or Operations.
  • Proficient in job relevant computer programs i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote
  • Problem solving (e.g. root cause analyses, six sigma, lean tools)
  • Technical knowledge of raw materials, packaging and process at the site
  • Statistics and Statistical Process Control
  • Risk Assessments
  • Ability to train others

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Owner of our portfolio performance, sku optimization, segmentation and pricing strategies
  • Innovation launches (new products/services/packaging changes)
  • Work In collaboration with the Digital and Media team to scale our consumer reach
  • Accountable to drive programs that drive Vet recommendation (prescription - conversion - adherence)
  • Develop our VET OGSM
  • Set annual plans in conjunction with sales and scientific communication team
  • Establish budget using zero base budgeting methodology, track ROI and deliver within approved budget
  • Liaise with the North American team and Global stake holders (Activity management, Global Brand Team)
  • Accountable to deliver a compelling vision on the future of new services as well as a path to deployment (telemedicine, pet Insurance, diagnostics, tailored nutrition, pet activity monitoring…)
  • Work In collaboration with our VET ecosystem (Mars Petcare, Antech, VCA, Blue Pearl, Banfield etc.) to grow areas of mutual partnerships
  • Participation In S&OP+ periodical process Including with enhanced responsibilities in step 1 PMR (Portfolio Management Review)
  • Follow, support and execute against all QMP processes (Quality Management process)
  • Build the functional capability and the engagement among local marketing team
  • Provide thorough personal development plan objectives and reviews
