About The Role:

Language Cloud is a SaaS platform we are building in RWS that exposes as a service the best of our language capabilities and of the language expertise that made us leaders in the translation industry in the last 25 years.

We are building Language Cloud in a micro service multi-tenant architecture using Java, JavaScript and C#, but we are always open to any development language that might prove to be a fit for a certain capability. We are adopters of leading open-source cloud stacks like Netflix OSS and Spring Cloud for building resilient, fault tolerant and scalable products. Our developers believe in giving back to the community and are actively involved in open-source projects through pull requests or technical discussions.

Language Cloud Java-developed micro services are based on Java8/Spring Boot, therefore Spring is our preferred framework for backend. The micro services are usually exposed through a REST API and are consumed through SDKs or by our own web applications.

Language Cloud UI is typically built using ExtJS, React is also an option for our next features.

Our engineers are familiar with multiple build and deploy pipelines. We implement Continuous Delivery by using tools like Maven, Jenkins, Selenium, Cucumber and JMetter, Pact, Nexus and deploying our services through Chef Recipes and Terraform on a hybrid cloud offered by NTT and Amazon AWS.

Responsibilities

 Analyze service, component and feature requirements, and write test cases to cover those requirements;

 Design, build and execute manual test cases as part of the test plan, to support a continuous delivery development;

 Use and read the reports of our automation systems built using Selenium and Cucumber, Jenkins, JMeter, Git;

 Drive error identification, logging and tracking in accordance with our department standards and strategy;

 Work with QA team members and software developers to troubleshoot test failures in the various test environments;

 Ensure that testing activities will allow applications to meet business requirements, fulfill end-user requirements and resolve system issues;

 Implement, track, and report key metrics to assure coverage of functional and non-functional requirements;

 Document, review and validate customer reported defects and feature requests against the automation test suites;

 Proactively communicate, share and influence other teams to improve quality, increase efficiency by using automation and provide stability;

 Research and make recommendations regarding technology and tooling improvements for a better validation process.

Requirements

 Practical understanding of context-based exploratory or scenario-based testing techniques;

 Ability to troubleshoot, communicate and resolve generalized system, data, and/or application issues;

 Understanding and use of APIs in micro-services architecture, cloud-based platforms and data processing in the cloud;

 Experience with RESTful web services and the JSON data format;

 Web application testing experience, firm understanding of web standards, usability, scalability and security;

 Exceptional attention to detail;

 Great verbal communication skills, practical documentation and writing skills;

 Ability to work in a distributed team and adjust to shifting priorities;

 Good understanding of agile development practices
