Position in the organization

? QCM -> Site Quality/Compliance Manager or Production Manager or Site Manager (depends on site organization)

? Direct reports: Senior: 2 or more Team leader; Professional: 2 or more Lab technicians

? Indirect reports: Senior : 5 or more Lab technicians

Purpose of the job

? Ensures that the analytical testing of raw materials ,intermediates and finished products, auxilaries and packaging materials is performed in a timely and economical manner.

? Manage the QC laboratory and take care for the lab document control, calibration, training of lab staff.

? Ensure the compliance of the used analytical methods to customer agreements, international, national standards and/or compendial methods.

? Full responsibility for all QC system functions.

? The QC manager coordinates the analytical testing for raw material, intermediates and finished goods samples and verifies the analytical results of the samples. There are intensive contacts to QA people, logistic- and plant managers.

Job content

? Takes care that the analytical methods comply to international, national standards and/or compendial methods ( e.g. EP/USP) and customer arrangements.

? Release of raw materials.

? Budget responsibility for the analytical testing material and equipment

? Takes care of an effective and efficient execution of the analytical tasks

? Is responsible for a secure archiving of the analytical results and the primary data and adequate storage of retained samples

? Managing of analytical issues.

? Role of an analytical expert to support internal and external customers and authorities.

? Leads a group of employees and is responsible for safety, work conditions and fosters the awareness for SHE and Quality .

? Takes care about the necessary training of the Lab staff.

? Takes care for the maintenance and calibration of the analytical equipment and calibration standards.

? Is responsible that the lab equipment is qualified and the analytical methods are validated if required.

Complexity

? Complexity and importance of the position is formed by the complexity of the analytical methods, the number of employees and the type of product (Pharma, Food, Feed).

Required Knowledge and Experience

? Academic background, preferably PhD/ master or equivalent education in chemistry.

? Expert knowledge in analytics, GLP

? Leadership , communication and presentation skills.

? Good command of local language and English

? Three to five years experience in analytical testing with a broad spectrum of analytical techniques and leadership.

? Knowledge of chemical production processes.

? Experience in necessary Quality Standards
