How will you make an impact?
Provides routine analyses in a quality control chemistry environment by following standard practices. Perform analytical methods for moderately complex testing on a variety of in process, stability, and release samples. Support internal development and/or manufacturing operations. Make detailed observations and review, documents and communicate test results; recommend solutions.


What will you do?

  • Conducts routine chemical and physical testing of finished product samples in support of release and stability testing, by internally developed and compendial test methods.

  • Executes validated test methods for finished products for strength, impurities, identity, and dissolution by HPLC, GC, IR, and other traditional quantitative analysis techniques such as Karl Fisher and manual titrations.

  • Recognizes and reports out-of-specification or unexpected results and non-routine analytical and product problems.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation as needed

  • Clearly and accurately communicates the results of work by creating documentation of the testing/analysis and obtained results.

  • Records and reports results of analysis in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.

  • Contributes to writing of SOPs if needed. Cleans and organizes work area, instrumentation, and testing materials. Cleans HPLC and dissolution systems after use.

  • Performs all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines.

  • Maintains the necessary compliance status required by company and facility standards.


How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor’s degree in life science, preferably in Chemistry.Associates degree in chemistry or biology-related discipline required.


Experience

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ of experience in a laboratory environment.

  • Experience performing chemical tests with chromatographic, spectroscopic, or other analytical techniques, specifically HPLC testing, manual titration, Karl Fisher, and Coulometric testing.

  • Experience with Empower is preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of Chemistry and analytical instrumental technologies.

  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative chemical or microbiological analysis.

  • Awareness of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmaceutical GMPs and descriptive organic chemistry.

  • Good problem-solving skills and logical approach to solving scientific problems.

  • Proficiency with HPLC, Karl fisher, and wet chemistry techniques.

  • Ability to write standard operating procedures

  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.

  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as determination of test reliability, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.
