Global Supplier Quality (GSQ) are responsible and accountable for quality related matters in relation to all outsourced GMP activities across AstraZeneca. This includes the supply of API’s, drug product, medical devices and materials.
The team is based globally, and we are looking for a Quality Account Manager who can be based in Macclesfield, UK, Södertalje, Sweden or US.
What you’ll do
As QAM, you’re responsible for the Quality management of assigned Supply Chains within the Supply Chain management teams in Global Supplier Quality and supporting the GES PCO organization. This means being accountable for all Quality activities that directly support execution of Quality Management of Product Supply Chains for Global External Sourcing, supply to customer (and/or AZ Site) covering end to end supply of the externally sourced products. Which includes, but is not limited to, Quality oversight and supporting Quality Directors during issue management of quality issues impacting the ability to provide the right product at the right time to the customer and taking the lead for GES in IMTs. The QAM serve as the primary interface between Quality and the Supply Chain Leads and as the Quality leader in the escalation of quality supply chain issues.
You may also perform the preparation and submission of periodic Supplier Quality Assessments, Regulatory Agency interactions and serving as Quality leaders on NPI teams in the review of new Product Supply Chains. In Licensing, strategic sourcing projects, process optimization and product transfer projects are within the scope of this role. Regulatory Agency interaction includes preparation for, and management of Regulatory Agency inspections for QA/Compliance assessments of Product Supply Chains.
Essential for the role
- Bachelor degree in a science / technical field such as Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry or Engineering
- Proven broad experience in either the pharmaceutical operations environment or pharmaceutical Quality Assurance
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of cGMPs, Quality Systems and the pharmaceutical supply chain environment. Strong understanding of industry standards such as Pharmacopeia, ISO standards, etc.
- At the highest level, demonstrated leadership capability and interpersonal skills to serve as the Quality leader for Product Supply Chain(s)
Important is your strong problem solving and negotiating/influencing skills. Ability to work independently and excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. As is, your demonstrated experience working cross-functionally and managing significant improvement initiatives (e.g. project management skills). Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required approximately 10-20% of your time.
Desirable for the role
- Experience working in a PCO organization or Lean/Six Sigma training
- Multi-site / multi-functional experience
- Shown experience in Quality Assurance or combination of Quality and Technical
- Masters Degree in Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs or other advanced scientific field
