According to product requirements and industry admittance rules, you will ensure turbo charge products meeting requirements of classification society, Rail Products Inspection Office or other certification party. You will also execute quality control and quality improvement to make manufacturing process and products meeting requirements. This is a Quality Control & Certification Engineer role reporting to the Quality Control Manager in the Business Area - Process Automation, Turbocharging located in Chongqing, China.

Your responsibilities

• Transferring and adapting requirements of classification society, Rail Products Inspection Office or other certification party into company’s internal procedure & specification so that those requirements can be met.
• Organizing factory works approval and product type approval performed by classification society/certification party.
• Planning of onsite product survey by classification surveyor /certification party, prepare for the product survey, execute the product survey, following up actions (including reporting of a certificate, etc.) after product survey.
• Assisting quality assurance manager of certification work with classification society /certification party - ensuring that laws, regulations and product specifications of approved products/certified products are met, ensuring products marked of certification marks meeting requirements of classification society /certification party. Submitting changes in the scope defined by classification society /certification body. Establishing documented procedure to control the application of certification marks. Establishing documented procedure, to control nonconforming products or non-validated changes on approved/certified products by classification society/certification bodies are not marked with certification marks. Working on window of communication and cooperation on certification area with classification society /certification body.
• Executing product quality control plan to control manufacturing processes and products conforming to requirements; verify the execution to improve its effectiveness.
• Driving quality improvements to define the root cause of nonconforming products detected internally and externally, taking corrective actions and verifying effectiveness.
• Performing analysis on conformity of process and products to identify areas for improvement, utilizing tools (like DMAIC) to improve COPQ and working on other works allocated by line manager.

Your background

• Must have a bachelor’s degree with major in Mechanical, internal combustion engine or quality management.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in classification/certification field and quality control field.
• Must have good knowledge and experience of mechanical manufacturing (Ductile iron casting, machining, heat treatment, etc.). Good knowledge and experience of ISO9001 QM.
• Robust knowledge of requirements of classification society (CCS, LR, NK, BV, DNVGL, ABS, etc.), rail products inspection specification. Should be familiar with certification work.
• Must be practical, creative in communication and be cooperative. Ability to write and speak in English.
• Should be familiar with turbocharging products & its sub-assembly. Experience in diesel engine manufacturing is a plus.
