Job Description
Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Tijuana facility. The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensure compliance throughout the organization on major programs from product design through manufacturing and product support. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and reporting on all Quality-related activities to insure fulfillment of contracts and purchase order requirements. This position requires a strong team player and a desire for maintaining a high commitment to both new and sustaining production processes. Responsible for ensuring that all quality related procedures and specifications required by customers are implemented and complied. Also responsible for monitoring and reviewing all quality related data generated by internal programs such as FPY, Non-Conforming Material (MRR and scrap data), etc. for the identification of trends and causes of non-conformance and the introduction of appropriate corrective action. Responsible for conducting internal audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with internal procedures and for the correction of any identified non-conformance. Responsible to assist in the investigation of failures and customer returns and the identification and correction of the root cause of the failures and to coordinate the segregation and isolation of all parts identified as being non-conforming product of causing customer returns. Team player to form an integral part of the Lean / Continuous Improvement Program and shall act as facilitator, instructor or team leader as required. Some activities related with the position will be: Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc. Assist Quality manager, in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system. Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc. Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system. Review and approve changes to Drawings, Specifications, Manufacturing Job Instructions, Travelers, etc. to assure continued compliance to approved data. Implement First Time through Quality Metric and measure performance. Track anomalies and create action plans for true root cause. Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns. Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints. Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions. Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions. Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits. Preparation of QA reports. Any other duties, as assigned. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering. 3 to 5 years of experience Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs and negotiation. Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9000 Self-motivated, organized, and effectively achieves team and group goals. Proven ability as an independent, objective, open-minded thinker. Proven professional attitude during the execution of an audit or conformity.
