Job Description
Job Summary Responsible to validate and verifying manufacturing systems based on Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) and IATF 16949; including process documentation, controls and optimization through the life of the product to ensure internal quality, customer satisfaction and drive automotive requirements. Additionally, the Quality Engineer needs to review periodically the Customer's portals to ensure CSRs are verified and changes are identified in order to promote the quality continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes on current and transfers businesses in accordance with the quality management system. Job Responsibilities Uses daily production data (Internal and external PPM’s., etc.) to work with the operations team in corrective and preventive plans to drive continuous improvement along with the multidisciplinary Perform statistical studies to determine data behavior and propose actions along with the operations core team. Communicate and interact with employees in regards of customer satisfaction to provide proper responses to customers as required Manage quality metrics such as external-internal PPM’s, customer complaints, MRB & warranties Validate manufacturing the assembly lines - along with the multidisciplinary team - through the process documentation (PFMEA, WIs, Control plan, flow chart, procedures) and PPAP - when applicable - when process or product requires changes that can affect the fit, form and function of the product Communicate to the customer changes applicable to the product or process with the support of Manufacturing & Test Engineers, Materials, Planning or any other applicable. Avoid changes to the product or process being executed without Customer's approval. Stop the assembly line as required if the customer is on risk. Maintain effective communication with customer through the follow up on complaints (8Ds) to ensure these are closed in a time matter with the support of the multidisciplinary team. Review and analyze any return from customers in order to evaluate the impact in quality. Drive the multidisciplinary team to the resolution of the problem. Audit and address employee actions or behavior to ensure adherence with required QMS policies and procedures. Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA) as required and guide others on how to perform it, if applicable. Visit the Customer's portals every month and report changes - any - to the QMS Engineer to ensure the CSRs are being updated properly. Leads the PPAP submission under the premise of the support of the validation Engineer and Process/Test Engineers Train personnel in Customer Specific Requirements & IATF 16949 and any other requirement for the AIAG. EHS Responsibilities: Separate hazardous waste from the common waste. Place hazardous waste (gloves, rags, etc.) in assigned containers. Keep clean the work área contaminant free. Do not waste water. Report any activity that may jeopardize my safety and the environment. Identify and properly dispose all the chemicals that may contaminate the environment. Ensure the correct container for the disposal of hazardous waste (identified containers and containers to prevent spills). Report the entry of new Chemicals required for Maintenance purposes due to maintain a record updated and assure the compliance of the correct handling of them. Contain oil spills and repair as necessary #LI-MA1 Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Industrial, Mechatronic, Electro mechanic or related). Preferred education level: At least 5 years of proven experience into the Automotive Industry working with OEMs or Tier 2. Higher level of communication with Customers and use of Customer's portals. Technical knowledge/Soft Skills: Core Tools, APQP, SPC, PPAP, PFMEA/CP, IATF 16949/ISO 9001, Statistical/Minitab, Six Sigma, Drawing Interpretation, 8D management, Engineering Changes & Validation management, Finance knowledge, GD&T, IPC requirements, Engineering background.
